I'm just being realistic. This is an entertainment business. Its just how it goes.
Seriously guys, why do you honestly believe Floyd has to work so hard outside of the ring to sell the fight? This is the same guy that GOT BOOED IN HIS OWN CITY WHERE FANS WERE LEAVING THE FIGHT EARLY.
How can anyone actually sit there and claim fans pay to see Floyd fight. 2.5 million people tuned in to see "the fight that would save boxing" only to see the fight where Floyd took no risks.
Be realistic.Comment

I dont get the last thing you said. How can you say there was no clamour when he did a Mill in a fight that everyone said it would bomb. Even when people thought it would do good they said 600,000 but most thought it would bomb. Instead he did over a mill. That means people did want to see himComment

Ill say this to you 2 again. Floyd may not be Pac with excitment but I dont think that every fan see's him as a boring clown either. I mean you just dont pay all the money to see the Hatton & JMM fights just to see him get KO or just because he is a good salesman. I think you guys are underrating his exciment value on the casual fan. Again, it may not be Pac but I dont think they just downright hate watching him either because there is no way they would keep buying those PPVs and there is no way that people would be talking non stop about Pac-Floyd or screaming "we want Floyd" at the end of the Pac fight. Dont underrate what people think of his style. The Baldy & Oscar fights were horrible but the Hatton & JMM fights werent as bad as you guys are making it out to beComment

I love Chad's and Floyd's fighting style, but I also understand that casual fans don't want to shell out $59 to see it. When it comes to a fight that is super over hyped and marketed, the fans MUST get what they are promised and sold. If not, you know it hurts the sport.

De La Hoya's Biggest fight was vs Floyd Mayweather...2.5
Pac & Oscar did 1.25....
If everyone tuned in to see Oscar vs Floyd then why did Pac with his HUGE fan base and Oscar with his HUGE fanbase do much less than Oscar & Mayweather?
Only fools on this forum think nobody wants to see the best technical pure boxer of this era. TRUE Boxing fans have witnessed all of the great from way back, they know Mayweather is a legend & ATG Boxer. The public knows that as well. Fact is he is an attraction, he is an american boxer, his skills are incredible, he is entertaining and he backs up his **** talking in the ring. Thats what people love and hate about MayweatherLast edited by Jiddu Dali; 11-22-2009, 05:26 PM.Comment

One reason I think Pacquiao is a bigger draw than Mayweather now is because Pacquiao style is pleasing to not just boxing fans but the general public as well. He fights 3 minutes of every round for 12 rounds, he's fast as hell, hits hard, can take shots, keeps fighting bigger and dangerous opponents and is just very exciting to watch. If you take a person who has never watched boxing and show them a Pacquiao fight and a Mayweather fight, odds are they would like Pacquiao more and if you want good PPV numbers you need someone who can please anyone.Comment

DLH didnt do anything but hit gloves, arms & shoulders, his ineffective aggression was ugly to watch. Baldo couldnt land anything....Comment
