[QUOTE=Datu Puti;6741561]Originally posted by jkaisen41 View PostAlright, that's what I love to hear. I have no problem with an different opinion as long as somebody respects it afterwards.
I said it before that Manny will probably end up history wise before Mayweather (and that is Mayweather's own fault) but history of boxing is based on accomplishments and not on in ring skills alone.
It is called moving and not running... that's something that I will never get about ppl who don't like Mayweather. Moving is a big part of defense and if you say he shouldn't move you say he shouldn't fight by his strengths. It would be the same if I say Pacquiao shouldn't throw his left hand or it is unfair... what's that about??? It is what he does and if Pacquiao is who everybody thinks he is it shouldn't be problem right???
All the things that you counted on are not even neccessary to beat Pacquiao. Morales or even Marquez aren't the fastest but they have superb timing. If anybody of these guys can catch Pacquiao clean, Mayweather does with ease. Mayweather has superb footspeed and movement and will off-set Manny's offense pretty much. As Manny goes wild with his punches look for May to time him and catch him clean with something he doesn't see... Manny can defend against guys who have inferior footspeed, handspeed and timing... Mayweather isn't in that category.
The southpaw won't matter much because if you look at May's arsenal you will see that is exactly what is need for a southpaw... straight rights and left hooks.
Power doesn't mean anything. Pacquiao won't hit him often enough and Mayweather doesn't need to hurt Pacquiao... he is used to have somebody in his face for 12 rounds not like guys like Cotto.
So, even you summed up the tools that both men have, you summed nothing up what will really count in this fight.
And even after Mayweather beat Pacquiao, Pacquiao maybe still is considered better history wise BUT it doesn't change that Manny Pacquiao can't beat Mayweather. Manny makes to much mistakes but ain't had to pay for it because his last 4 opponents were inferior to him in speed and timing.[/QUOTE
Like I said before, MAYWEATHER IS A VERY SKILLED BOXER...but i don't like him because of his antics....the thing is this...THE MAYWEATHER's don't know the sayin don't do to others what you don't want done to you. They bad mouth everyone...like their the greatest, they don't know the meaning of humility. People in here seems to miss the point....i don't wanna have to pull the race card in here...but I will make examples and let you people decide what i'm trying to say. Before rap got big...all the record labels and producers were white, someone obviously gave the first rap artist his chance, the same thing with boxing, MAYWEATHER was given a chance by ARUM, when he got big, everything else got big...then now he bad mouths ARUM...HE could have gone with DON KING...and the same **** would have happen except MAYWEATHER won't make such a big thing cause its a black thang.....(OF COURSE DON KING would probably do him worst) the bottomline is MAYWEATHER don't know how to be grateful. That bull**** he did in passing out food to the homeless, that was all for show....he needs to do that more instead of flossin his ride and everything he owns...Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods has more money than MAYWEATHER will ever has, but you don't see those guys talkin **** and showing off too much in the media...Even if MAYWEATHER beats PACQUIAO, in my eyes and many people's eyes he ain't ****....but the boxing world and its fans all over the world will be ELATED, OVERJOYED...TO SEE PACQUIAO beat the **** out of MAYWEATHER...definetly will be the sweetest joy next to getting *****.
The things with giving food out to the community he has done for a long, long time... it ain't a publicity stunt... and even if it would have been only for TV, the guys who were there gotten something and with that he probably did more for a human being then you and me combinded, so I don't know what he is to fault for.
As Mayweather was with Arum he was considered p4p the best or near the best but he never got any momentum going. After he left him he became a star... so I don't know... I don't think that he's that ungreatful... Arum is the guy who takes every shot at him that he possible can... May says a thing here or there but most of the times it doesn't come from him. And Mayweather is not the first fighter who left Arum pretty bitter and had a lot of bad communication with him afterwards. So I have to doubt that it is only May's fault.
Yeah, and that's great. If you want to see him get beat ok no problem... buy the PPV if you think Manny can do it and we will all part of probably the biggest event in history.

Oh, how some people wish Pacquiao would have returned back down to the lighter weights so he wouldn't have to face Floyd.
He can't go any higher according to himself and Freddie Roach, and if he ran back down to the lighter weights without facing top competition at WW, especially after performing so well, he would risk being called a "ducker".
Funny how he couldn't call out Floyd like Marquez did when asked by Larry Merchant if he wanted to fight Floyd, but a week later he can be seen asked by a reporter to state "For The Record" if he wanted to fight Floyd.
I could be wrong, but it almost seems like he needed a green light from Arum before he could say that, for the record, yeah he would like to fight Floyd.

Pacman for sure can't fight on May 1, 2010 because it's the election week in the Philippines. Meaning, his schedule will be so occupied campaigning leading to the 1st week of May. Imo, the ideal date for the Pac vs PBF fight is on September/Fall months.

Team Mayweather are simply idiots, what could u expect from them....
Originally posted by BIGPOPPAPUMP View PostGolden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer flies to Las Vegas to begin negotiations with Top Rank promoter Bob Arum over lunch on Monday (Tuesday in Manila) in an effort to reach an agreement on a battle royale between reigning pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr who held that title before he retired two years ago. [details]People, experts, sports organizations, & boxing fans around the wold knew what is the real status of popular boxers today...We can't fool them by way of trash talking, mind games & other sorts of alibi to make them believe...In reality, boxing as a sport is full of drama & surprises along the way but "to see is to believe" was always the case to prove a fighter's worth & greatness & made boxing fans entertained & thrilled...
The sad thing is we always entertain crazy people who would like to divert the real score & status of what we have witnessed & understand in the process than giving more attention of what was achieved & accomplished...
Mayweather is the best example of an idiot who uses dirty mind tactics, unbelievable stories, trash talking, etc. to make low level IQ fans believe...The attention he has got from media & his low level IQ fans was the result... But the truth is he doesn't have the heart of a great fighter, questionable resume (lack the experience of fighting top elite opponents of his own size & Castillo vs Floyd I result), ducking Moseley on his face, avoiding Cotto by retiring, etc...
I know the boxing world really wants a Pacquiao vs Mayweather but why they want this...Because Floyd made his low IQ fans believe he's the best, is it proven or just cherry picking opponents to make him look impressive plus his trash talking?...Maybe we want this because we want to see him lose & shut his mouth....
But we all know entertainment wise, accomplishments, achievements, strong heart, humbleness, speed, power, great chin, star power, whatever adjectives you want to use Pacquiao has proven it all right...Floyd doesn't even deserve to fight him...Pacquiao 60 - Floyd 40 is fair...If negotiations failed Manny doesn't need Floyd at all, he's already an All Time Great...
