I grew up in one of the roughest areas of England so no problem with finding tough guys I dont think theres anything wrong with people not being tough, up to them and violence is not pretty. I do hate those metro's with big mouths though, you just wanna hurt them. IMO, if you can't handle yourself...dont mess with people.

        Quote Of The Week!

        QUOTE OF THE WEEK!

[QUOTE=Super_Lightweight] - In the same way it would be dumb to bring up London rules boxing and Queensbury rules an all this bull**** that people don't even care about anymore.

The international sport of boxing doesn't use those rules anymore

        LOL!....

OK... I finally learned what you mean!!!...

America "OWN" British boxing... LOL!.... "OWN" means something different to what we know it as!... "OWN" is some kinda fighting term in America for winning right?...

OK.... LOL!... It sounded like you were saying that America invented boxing? (as usual) And that history is irrilevent, (again usual)...

I dont get it. Just cause we fight by Queensbury rules Britain owns America in boxing? I dont think so. IMO the country with better qualitu fighters owns the country with less quality fighters and it does not really matter who plays by which rules. just cause you invented the rules for the game does not mean you own it.

The reason boxing doesn't have as many great fighters as it used to is because the best athletes choose to concentrate on other sports over boxing.
With the exception being a country like Mexico where it's still the number one sport right up there with soccer. Mexico still churns out great fighters like they always have.

Boxing has become a last resort for athletes where as in the past it was in the top 4 along with baseball, football, and basketball.

              Look at it this way.
If these guys can make a living playing football, baseball or basketball, why would they go into boxing?

Baseball, basketball (and some football players) make just as much as most of the top figthers do these days, and they don't have to worry about not being able to remember their own name when their career is over with, they don't have to worry about some scumbag promoter or manager stealing all his money, they don't have to worry about getting screwing out of a decision by crooked judges, they don't have to worry about putting their lives on the line every time they step on the field.

Athletes see the problems in boxing plus the inherent physical risks and choose to concentrate on other sports because the risks aren't nearly as great and the money is just as good, if not better.

Why should someone with a talent for baseball, basketball and boxing concentrate on boxing? It's just not worth the risk to a lot of these guys unless it's the ONLY sport they are good at.

I'm just biting on ignorant ****** comments Light_Welterweight is making.

Just because England invented boxing, doesn't mean they "OWN" the sport!... Not at all!... The best boxer's in the World come from Mexico/Thailand/Phillipienes/Malaysia/Africa/and many more.

Kenny is correct. This is also the reason that boxing may never see another heavyweight era like the one in the 1970's. All of the best heavyweights are playing football, baseball, and basketball.

I said one statement based on being uninformed. Nothing ****** about it...hardly anyone refers to or knows this "Queensbury" term. We know the rules, just don't call 'em that. That's all. Just confusion. Think before you speak next time and I will do the same. Saying Americans ain't tough is pretty ballsy and totally untrue, that is my point.
