Why not, since both parties agree to the terms of the catchweight?

Nobody kicked up a fuss about Pavlik-Hopkins, Jones-Trinidad, Pavlik-Taylor, etc. Nobody cared at all before Pacquiao had his one and only catchweight fight where his opponent was asked to drop ONE pound since his last weigh-in. How strange. Yet Manny became "the catchweight king"? FWIW, Hopkins had more catchweight fights than Pacquiao.

but thats what contracts are for and yet no one claims these ppl are making up rules like a commissioner...its kinda weird.
There's a massive difference between two fighters agreeing to a weight they are both comfortable with than one fighter accusing another of cheating the sport by using steroids and demanding he take special tests... because of a hunch. It's ******ed.

      Ask Mayweather.

If you're going to step up and fight someone do it at their regular weight so both fighters can be as healthy as possible.

wait, lets get it right and forget all the hype. floyd never accused manny of taking peds. what his father and uncle said is their buisness.

secondly there really is no difference. you are making one up because u dont like the concept. thats the truth. its the same thing, simply put, neither are going by commission standards. i dont even get how ppl still argue there is any difference

I think they should be allowed, i dont see an issue as long as both parties agree.

I don't have any problem with catchweights. As long as both fighters agree, and come in at the agreed weight. Because you know when one fighter comes in a couple of pounds higher, most likely the fight will still push through, especially if it's a high profile fight. Fighters should stick to the agreed weight.
