Pacuiao try to feel it out and measuer cotto in the first round, but once pacquiao step it up cotto couldnt do anything except defending he can't brawl or fight toe to toe with manny. It will be worst if there will be a rematch because manny knows that he can ko or hurt cotto with his punches.

ok so hypothetically speaking. If this fight were to happen.

First , Cotto needs a new trainer. Not wanting to disrespect Joe Santiago or Manny, but cotto had the right stuff to beat Manny and I will explain why.

First round: Cotto dictates the paste and doesnt engage in exchanges , counters very good , matches Mannys explosiveness by catching him with quick jabs coming from a nice angle.

That was key for a victory. And I dont care who says what. As long as Cotto kept this up he had this fight , and this is where Mayweathers last statement about pac being one dimensional kicks into gear.

I can see why maywetaher considers Manny a one dimensional fighter, Manny last 5 opponents , 3 mexicans , Hatton and De la Hoya. Mexicans love to exchange , they are hit me so I can hit you harder type fighters. And that gives Manny the edge with his way superior speed. Hatton , he throws and throws , with no defense , Manny throws and throws , with some defense and better accuracy , and De la Hoya. Which had no chance.

Manny can only beat you one way. With his speed. But unless you dont give him an open canvas , he wont have anywhere to paint his shots.How do you do that. Box Box Box a lot.

He dictated the paste of the first round , did not let Manny settle into his fighting style which is exchange a lot and Ill beat you with my speed.

From the second round on , Cotto forgot that Mannys speed , is out of the ordinary. Take away his speed , and he doesnt have much resources , only his bounce a lot style of walking the ring which will make you miss a lot ,And Cotto took his speed away in the first round.

Cotto thought that after that first round , he could actually throw combinations and that Manny will not engage. after all , it was called FIREPOWER. somebody was going to land first , we all knew who had the advantage , and we all knew what the other guy had to do , what he did in the first. And forgot to do from the second on. Cotto engage and fell into Manny trap , he tried to outland and beat Manny to the punch and you cannot do that. After that fight , I came to the conclusion that whoever beats manny pacquiao is going to do it in a boring fight , lacking a lot of action , and using a lot of defense.

Nah bro, Pacquiao will beat Cotto tomorrow, and possible next year and the year after.

Its ok im not in a bubble , maybe you didnt read the part where , that wasnt my idea exactly and someone else brought it up , but anyways. Did u see where Cotto said that this fight is "resbalon" . U might be right , He might go down by Ko , but it would be interesting to see what cotto would have been able to accomplish if he didnt turn the fight into a brawl , You think Manny would have taken shots if given to him in the first. He tough about it twice when Cotto had a tigh defense and was landing that jab effectively. Like I said , The person to beat Pacquiao will be a beast defensive boxer , who will make him miss , who will control the paste with an accurate jab , a person who will attack smart , who picks his posts and will not get into a brawl with Manny , and I am sure Cotto can do that. He did it for 1 , he could do it for more. Cotto got ****y and thought he intimidated pac in the first with his attack , and just went on to fight ******ly. Like Joe Santiago said , we were impressed when his power. Pac would have not been able to land as much as he did with Cotto fighting smart , and a lot of people in here dont want to see that , but after all this is boxing , and there are more ways of winning that dont involve getting into a brawl , and thats what he did , thats his style , and thats exactly how Pac will beat you , cuz he will outland you with his speed. Like I said before , now , counting Cotto , pacs last 6 opponents , 3 mexicans , that love to brawl , Hatton , no defense , no boxing what so ever , and loves getting hits in exchanges , De la Hoya , did not stand a chance. And Cotto , fell into a brawlers match and got beaten.

The way to beat Manny , box box box box , jab jab jab jab , always with smart defense , limit urself to leaving urself opened and getting countered.
