dude you don't even realize what you are saying. your argument is moot, your fighter just lost... could cotto have kept pacquiao off of him? NO, even if he did abandon everything that makes him miguel cotto and try to be defensive and what ever else you want him to do, it would not have changed the outcome in any way. miguel cotto still would have gotten a terrible beating, it's only a matter of time before manny finds his left hand on your face.

    im done with this thread.

your argument is getting annihilated here, but yet you still stick with the same ****** opinion. no matter what is said, there is no changing a person like you's point of view. you will always be ******ed until you get out of denial. i honestly mean that. look at your life dude, clearly you have issues extending far beyond the misunderstanding of the sport of boxing. take a look at your life, you are seriously braindead man. wake up.
ok bro , I say the same , JMM marquez got a draw fighting smart , and a better fighter in Cotto couldnt do that. Ur another idiot that dont even understand where Im coming from , so I think is better that u dont even try to analyze cuz u failed since the first try. But really , I see some logic in ur comments out of all the idiots that commented , u and like other 6 actually said something smart , If you wanna have a better understanding of what im trying to say u are more than welcome to send me a pm and ask. So I can explain, because it makes me laugh that my buddy and his trainers made me see that , but some internet message board experts are too SMART too even understand the idea.

even if they fought at the same pace, pac will still walk thru cotto's punches coz he was tough mentally, which cotto didn't possess

look son, even if the fight was at 147 or 154 or 145, it will be the same result
Manny is mentally tougher than cotto

i would admit that cotto has more tools that can beat Pac but he doesn't have any balls to impose his will over Pac's
like I told somebody son, u want to understand the idea pm me , ill even give u my msn , so we can chat , but im done trying to explain an idea of where Miguel failed to idiots , that prob have never laced up. And by the way. I didnt come up with this. A co-worker of mine , a 19 year old , 19 for gods sake , and his trainer , made me see this idea. who says we are right , I aint even discussing cotto not getting whooped. Thats undeniable. Just that what he did and what he stopped doing could have been the difference. Some people say it was Pacquiao , It could have been , but what if it wasnt , But u dont want to see past that. then I cant help you

First , Cotto needs a new trainer. Not wanting to disrespect Joe Santiago or Manny, but cotto had the right stuff to beat Manny and I will explain why.

First round: Cotto dictates the paste and doesnt engage in exchanges , counters very good , matches Mannys explosiveness by catching him with quick jabs coming from a nice angle.

That was key for a victory. And I dont care who says what. As long as Cotto kept this up he had this fight , and this is where Mayweathers last statement about pac being one dimensional kicks into gear.

I can see why maywetaher considers Manny a one dimensional fighter, Manny last 5 opponents , 3 mexicans , Hatton and De la Hoya. Mexicans love to exchange , they are hit me so I can hit you harder type fighters. And that gives Manny the edge with his way superior speed. Hatton , he throws and throws , with no defense , Manny throws and throws , with some defense and better accuracy , and De la Hoya. Which had no chance.

Manny can only beat you one way. With his speed. But unless you dont give him an open canvas , he wont have anywhere to paint his shots. How do you do that. Box Box Box a lot.

Jab , jab , jab , counter and pick your spots , and thats exactly what Cotto did in the first.

He dictated the paste of the first round , did not let Manny settle into his fighting style which is exchange a lot and Ill beat you with my speed.

From the second round on , Cotto forgot that Mannys speed , is out of the ordinary. Take away his speed , and he doesnt have much resources , only his bounce a lot style of walking the ring which will make you miss a lot ,And Cotto took his speed away in the first round.

Cotto thought that after that first round , he could actually throw combinations and that Manny will not engage. after all , it was called FIREPOWER. somebody was going to land first , we all knew who had the advantage , and we all knew what the other guy had to do , what he did in the first. And forgot to do from the second on. Cotto engage and fell into Manny trap , he tried to outland and beat Manny to the punch and you cannot do that. After that fight , I came to the conclusion that whoever beats manny pacquiao is going to do it in a boring fight , lacking a lot of action , and using a lot of defense.
give it a rest. cotto lost fair and square. the outcome was not disputed.

Cotto did well in round one even in round two before the end. Then he got to comfortable and went back to doing what he successfully did to Mosley and Judah which was Brawl and it cost him the fight. He's lucky the Ropes were there to save him cause it was almost three knockdowns. Manny did what he needed to do Cotto didn't.
