Buddy Ryan's Chicago Bears Defense > Willie Pep.

Willie Pep wasn't destructive. Missing the point.

You have to read and listen to how the full quote sounds to make it make sense.

Jack Johnson, Gene Tunney, even Ali are much better examples of the quote than Willie Pep.

Sometimes the best offenses make better defenses. The 98 Vikings and Moss used to score TDs very early, forcing the other team to abandon the run, making them 1 dimensional and sometimes playing their weakness, while making them predictable. In boxing you can negate this with a lucky KO. In football, not so much. There's just too many dynamics in football to be compared to boxing, such as it being a team sport. holding penalties, injuries, gameplans, single matchups, kicking game, game management, controlling the clock etc etc.. Boxing is more primitively natural.
And the 98 Vikings did not win in the end.

Actually, my home-team, Eagles, led by the Great Mind of Jimmy Johnson, used to stop Randy Moss all the time when he put together his defense. He figured out how to stop Moss...even in his prime. That's when Daunte Culpepper and Moss were putting up big numbers. The defense shot down Moss while also attacking Culpepper.
Defense destroyed what the offense was trying to do.

In a way, it is both defense and offense but it is regarded as Defense because of the mind-set and attack.

Forget who the guy said it but it was on the NFL network a few weeks back. He quoted a Football coach I think.
I've been waiting to see if it would be on again but...whatever.

Damn...so tired when I watched it.

        Anybody else see it?

At least I hope I got that quote right.

Anyway, I was trying to think how that would relate to Boxing even though it is Football we are talking about.

In the NFL, defense is used to prevent the offense from scoring all the while counter-attacking at blitz speed to rush at the ball.
the problem is PBF is on a def forever and picking some shots from time to

time on def. PBF never brawl on boxing.

but pac's def is offense, he box and he will pick a shot and he will fire it all

        all the time.

on the grove or rhythm PACS brawl round 1-12 when your time is up.

You don't have to brawl with defense...just be able to attack the offense as well as prevent. Floyd used to do this well below 147.

What Pac brings to the table however may be more than just offensive at this point which changes the game...but will still have to add up points and see who has the best game-plan and can make adjustments.

            Interesting matchup.
