In my opinion, yes. The Cotto fight was enough to put Pacquiao ahead of Mayweather in my view but not enough that it would cancel out Floyd beating Pac himself.

I would have to say yes.

I am a fan of both fighters, I belive that Manny Pacquiao, based on his acheivements thus far is the best fighter of this generation. I personally think that his wins over Marquez, Barerra and Morales were his most important victories. Cotto follows closely behind, and then you have the Hatton, and Oscar wins, which are the icing on the cake.

Floyd has many underrated performances, but so far he does not have that many big names on his resume. You would have to say that Marquez, Hatton and Oscar are Floyd's biggest wins. Some would say that Floyd faced better versions of Oscar and Hatton.

If you look at the Ability levels of both fighters they seem to be very evenly matched. Manny has quite possibly the perfect offense backed up by very good defense, Floyd has quite possibly the perfect defense, backed up by very good offense. Size wise, both fighters are reasonably on a par too. Manny looks to have settled into Welterweight, and of course we know Floyd is comfortable there.

If Manny wins, he becomes a true legend, even moreso than he already is, if Floyd wins, he achieves that which he craves, respect, as well as confirmation that he is the best of this era and a truly gifted fighter.

If we strip away all of the personal politics, we should all be able to agree that these are two very special fighters. Their confrontation will be a gift to boxing.

Sorry to drone on, i know i'm a noob but i'm passionate on this subject

He should have fought the top welters when he could have. Seriously, think about it. It could have been Mayweather to stop Cotto like Tony and Manny did. It could have been Floyd to beat Margarito like Shane and Paul did. It could have been Floyd that beat Shane like Cotto did. It could have been Floyd that beat Paul like Carlos did.

Instead, he, and his followers made excuse after to excuse to not fight Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, Williams, etc.

He put himself in that situation by taking the fights he chose to take for whatever silly reason he came up with.

                Now, as some have predicted,

hes going to pay for it in the long run as his legacy takes a hit while others simply move on and continue doing what fighters do,

take on the best time and time again until you can't anymore all while improving their legacies one fight at a time.

Here, since I know you're a bit slow,

Floyd could have beaten Margarito before Paul or Shane did.
Floyd could have beaten Shane before Cotto did.
Floyd could have beaten Miguel before Tony or Manny did.

                See a pattern?

The funniest part, Floyd says he could have done it with ease, but lol,

                didn't.

Someone else did it though and not Floyd.

Yep...this fight between the two will be very difficult for me...lol

but I give credit to Floyd for the Hatton win, the DLH win, and the Judah win.
And Baldomir has a chin of cast iron... I never really expected a great fight there.

southpaw Mitchell was Floyd's tune up for Judah at ww just like Bald was Judah's ppv draw tune up for Floyd...they were trying to build buzz (as a side note Bruselle, a countryman and former sparring partner of Cotto, was supposed to be a leadup for a Cotto fight, Cotto even picked Brusselle to beat Floyd)

The JMM fight stated his case as the unofficial mandatory challenger of Pac, plus it got him some nice scrilla on the side.

No need to call me slow. And your font color is wack.

Its an irrevocable fact to me that no matter who Floyd beats, it will be downplayed, and the fighters left over will be propped up as guys that he's ducked, or afraid of.

Until he beats THEM that is.

                    Then the cycle repeats.
