like Left Hook Tua said...take some fights with lesser opponents to get his confidence back...but please leave Joe Santiago...he has NO experience.

Cotto is still young, he doesn't need to retire.

Absolutely. He's already a top 20 ATG, IMO, and he can still achieve more.

If you think that I am lying look at cotto in round 3 and 4 had many in the ropes couldnt let his hands go no energy . that called over trained and weight drained no legs he was tierd before he threw a punch .
lol thats exactly what my dad was telling me by the third round i believe he had pacman kind of hurt in the ropes and he wasn't throwing he looked like he gassed out way to early on the fight. At the same time I also kept on saying and was surprised that cotto didn't have a right arm. That was the way to stop the pressure but his right wasn't doing anything JMM kept him away with a right hand and left hooks to the body.

Yet another crappy article! No margarito/cotto rematch

Margarito is a disgrace and we the boxing fans are smarter than you think.. Go take that bull**** to your mother!

Might be too little too late...

Evangelista must be shaking his head in disappointment.

I think, psychologically, Cotto is diminished. Physically, he may still compete, but his performances against elite fighters may not be up to par with his past performances at an elite level.

He could prove us wrong and come back to capture more titles, however he might need a long rest to regroup and analyze the restructuring of his team and future strategy.

He was again taken past his threshold and relegated to boxing on fumes in survival mode.

How much can his conditioning improve?

Cotto does need some new people. I just hope that he hasn't been to affected by the punishment.

I don't think Cotto will change his corner even if he does need to but he just likes been the boss and well man some time you need change look at pacquiao look at shane mosley bernard hopkins mayweather they all change corners and got people who knew how to bring there talent out and got diciplined .Cott has all the tools be a great boxer just not the dicipline . cotto has a snapy jab , nice left hooks to the body and the head can box and go to war just doesnt have the right persons to get him sharp enough . Cotto pre margarito would have wared 12 rouns with pacquiao and would have been a better fight even if he lost . probably there would be a cotto pacquiao 2 .

Cotto has been in way too many wars, that is just something you expect when you watch a fight of his but at 29 it seems to be sooner than it should. I am a Cotto fan because of the fact that he goes in and takes care of business. Defense is what he really needs to improve if he plans to continue with his career which I hope he does.
