Why do people want to rank Paul Williams so low P4P?

Piss dub shouldn't be on anyone's p4p list period!

The guy gets credit for beating opponents that he's never even faced and the vast majority of real boxing fans are beginning to realise that he is overhyped and overrated.


He claim to fame is beating an old,inactive,rusty Winky Wright.He has two victories over elite opponents in Antonio Margarito and his daddy Carlos Quintana(who humiliated Williams in a one sided boxing lesson) and nothing else to his resume.Williams has been ducking Clottey for over a year and turned down a million dollars to fight Kelly Pavlik in the past and yet he claims that everybody is avoiding him.

But the whole point I'm trying to make is he's been a lot more busy in the ring than say for example Mosley and Hopkins. Even if you don't think too highly of his current run, he fought four times last year and Pavlik is to blame for there being a big window of inactivity by him since the last time he beat Winky.

If williams beats Matinez his stock goes way up. I think Martinez is more credible than Pavlik to be honest. Sergio is a tougher fight. If Williams wins convincingly he can no longer be ignored. As for Pavlik, he has no credibility as far as I'm concerned.

Iceta, you cant act like everyone didnt just recently see him got easily owned over 12 rounds by an average fighter. Thats why he's not up there. That **** dont go away. No other guy up there has a recent L even close to that. We would roast the top guys if they had an L like that. Also, you say he beat the Mosley conquer but that guy was off for 2 years just like Floyd so how can you take credit away from Floyd for stuff but act like Williams should get a ton for that win. Mosley also killed Margarito while Williams had to hold on and barely win probably by the final round. He will probably definatly move up if he beats Martinez but I for one, think that he could lose and if he wins then its not that special. Im like the only guy on here who thinks Martinez sucks. His fight with Cintron was awful. Both guys looked horrible and he wants to make the fight at MW instead of 154. You know, the same thing you again ripped Floyd for. Then I think you are making far too big of a deal about inactivity. You act like Mosley & Hopkins have been off forever. It just seems that way. Its really not that long and both guys already have big matches lined up just like Williams does so I dont think he can past them right now

Depends how he performs against Martinez. Shane "turning him down" is not grounds to rank him above Shane though.

Martinez had his last fight scheduled at 157-158 so the weight advantage that Paul Williams may have in this fight is not going to be as great as the one for Floyd-JMM. I just don't think that inactivity should be rewarded. I'm sorry. well I might agree if we were talking about some young cat but you cant act like Hopkins & Shane aint put in there work in this game. You know that at there age they are not going to be fighting 4 times a year. They are looking for big money super fights right now so most likely it will always be once or twice that they fight.
