But the whole point I'm trying to make is he's been a lot more busy in the ring than say for example Mosley and Hopkins. Even if you don't think too highly of his current run, he fought four times last year and Pavlik is to blame for there being a big window of inactivity by him since the last time he beat Winky.

If Williams cleaned out 154 he would have a solid case for #2 and maybe even #1 after Pacquiao retires. The winner of the super six tournament would have a good case for the top five as well.

Iceta, p4p is all about who you think would be the best if the best across all weightclasses could be scaled to the same size while retaining the attributes that made them successful.......not about who avoided who, you can't be proven better than someone else in a mythical tourney in your mind because others didn't fight you for whatever reason.....but p4p is all completely subjective

I agree with your post somewhat, but not only talent plays a factor. So does body of work as well. I mentioned the fact that Mosley turned Williams down, and that is part of why I think he should be ranked underneath Williams. But also the fact that Williams had already beaten Margarito and then in turn beat Winky (even if he was a little faded and rusty) more impressively than Shane did. But Mosley beat Margarito more decisively than Williams did, so I guess it can even out.

people aren' gonna line up for pwill afer he beats martinez unless he sells out and gets good ratings. With the soft fighters I doubt he ever gets the recognition he deserves

'Cause many considers him a midger-beater.
He hasn't really fought anyone that's a big threat to him yet, aside maybe from Margarito.

Margarito in 12 rounds, Quintana in 12 rounds, and Winky Wright in 12 rounds whos 37 year old W/ 2year lay off and weight drained after fight with Bhop at 170. I think people think highly of them, but the system is right IMO
