Timing is all good if you're in with a guy with a predictable, boring 4/4 rhythm. Manny's **** is on some syncopated 21/16 type Virgil Donati ****, and with that, Cotto might not even be able to think fast enough to time Manny.

I say Cotto does well for a few rounds, then starts to lose the plot in round 3.

Speed can be maintained (or possibly increased) while gaining weight by doing exercises that specifically focus on explosiveness. Plyometrics, ballistic training -- the things Pacquiao is doing with Ariza right now, are designed to do exactly what we are talking about. It's very taxing on the body, but the end result is worth it, apparently. I'm no expert, I'm going on what I've read up on, but it all makes perfect sense to me.



This is an absolutely ludicrous statement. At 106, Manny wasn't even remotely close to being as strong and healthy as he is today. He ate badly, slept in a cardboard box, and earned very little money when he started out. Are you seriously suggesting that a guy going through a bad time in life and living in poverty is going to perform as well or faster than a multi-millionaire with a team of highly regarded professional trainers and nutritionists? IMO, Clottey at this stage of their career's, CLEARLY has faster hands than Mosley.

That could be true. I think mosley is a bit faster, but Clottey walks pretty damn slowly, but when he opens up he has very fast hands.

and peple say you have fast hands when you throw fast combinations, at least the average fan does. Clottey throws doesn't throw many flashy combinations to the head usually going to the body instead
