They can argue all they want but are still wrong.....and Joe fights nothing like Chad.......he would easily out point Bernard at this point. I don't understand why Dawson is getting picked apart on here tonight he fought great and the score literally could have been a shut out.
Hopkins would beat Chad Dawson

Exactly.
But it's not as if Taylor beat Berard's ass in those fights, either. It was pretty much split down the middle on who people thought won them. (I had Taylor winning 1, and Hopkins winning the rematch)
I dare to say that mentally, Chad isn't anywhere near where Jermain was at the time he fought Bernard the first time out. He just seems so unsure of himself in the ring whenever he's tested.
And believe me ; Hopkins would test him. Even at the age of 50, he would use his intelligence, his rough tactics, and all the tools in his toolbelt, to really force Dawson to dig deep.Comment

That's because Dawson was lunging on the inside when he wasn't suppose to be. This time he did it right, he stayed tactical and kept Johnson at bay with his right jab. With Hopkins, i think the story will be hand speed. Bernard just doesn't have what it takes to deal with someone who is faster than him and a complete boxer ( and may i add naturally bigger, taller and a southpaw?)Or he could just show Chad lots of angles, counterpunch the hell out of him, and really bust him up in the clinch.
We all saw how badly Chad hates the clinch in the first Johnson fight. Everytime Glen roughed him up he had the look of a child who'd just been caught masturbating.
And Johnson isn't half the inside fighter Hopkins is. ****, just ask Johnson himself.
Dawson would be the favorite and for good reason. Taylor and Calzaghe beat Hopkins by being fast enough to beat him to the punch and feinting him. I can't see how the story would be any different with Dawson who skillwise, could pose a much more difficult match up than either of them.
That only happend in first Johnson fight. When Dawson is fighting another boxer, his defense is one of his best attributes.Last edited by slicksouthpaw16; 11-08-2009, 02:30 AM.Comment

Taylor definitely didn't beat Hopkins convincingly. I think it comes down to how you judge fights. We would just have to wait to see if Hopkins fights Dawson, I would really like to see it happen.Exactly.

When have you seen someone easily outpoint Hopkins, let alone a guy who drops rounds to tailor made opponents If the fight gets vade bet me all your points, kid will get his soul taken. He beats a shot ass Glenn who was much worse than last year and you are impressed? They can argue all they want but are still wrong.....and Joe fights nothing like Chad.......he would easily out point Bernard at this point. neither of those guys ever beat him too the punch or feinted him. taylor got the nod one time because hopkins started late, and the second time for god knows what reason. calzaghe got the nod for throwing more.
