Hopkins fought very differently in those taylor fights, and I think he won both. He throws more and makes his opponents do less now.

In terms of punch output and speed?

Calzaghe's punch output is lightyears beyond Dawson's. He worked every minute, of every round, and always had the stamina for the full 12.

Dawson starts fast, but slows down considerably as the fight wears on, and often times just takes rounds off to do "fuck all".

The speed is comparable, but Calzaghe was lightyears beyond Chad in terms of workrate, consistency, and level of opposition.

When did Chad Dawson become a high workrate fighter, all of a sudden?
Yeah, your right about punch output, I wasn't specific. I meant to compare them in speed rather than work rate. But like I said above, Taylor doesn't have Calzaghe workrate either.

If this was 5 years ago maybe this could be conceivable but now it would be no more than a joke. The best way to get to Chad is with pressure, and Hopkins doesn't do well with athletic boxers. Hopkins would have a much better chance against Cloud due to styles.....If they fought now, you would see Dawson easily, yes easily out point the old version of Hopkins.....its too late for this, B-hop is too old, has no interest in fights of significance because he has had many and a great career, its Dawson's time now.

hopkins would beat dawson imo, i feel like this guy is never gonna have that moment when he finally slips up, it won't happen ha, but if roy ends up beating, that maybe that moment, even if roy looks good doing...roy beat a washed up lacy and even though i was impressed it doesn't mean hes going to take leaps and bounds because he beat lacy, so like someone said earlier i would like to see hopkins fight one fight before dawson even though i think hed beat him just based on the fact that it s been a while since he fought pavlik

Calzaghe arguably lost to Hopkins, who is just as fast, throws 10 times more and doesn't gas, and you say Chad easily beats him?

I thought Taylor should have lost both fights against Hopkins.

I know those fights are disputable, but I think Dawson can give Hopkins the same trouble that Calzaghe and Taylor gave him.

Dawson and Calzaghe fight completely different and Joe is very akward and crafty...he aint easy to hit...

The Jermain that Bernard fought is more active than Dawson as well...Jermain's jab in 05 was very good and Jermain came to fight not box and move with you...

I really think Bernard can beat Dawson...if not it'd be real close...Dawson fights too relaxed at times...

I stopped watching the fight in the 8th round.

Dawson is horrible. I don't think Popkinks can beat him cuz' Dawson will run all night.

Any of the young guns will **** him up though. Dawson ain't ****.
