First, lets start with Cotto defense. I love how you mention he gets cut, either by headbutt or punches. Putting idiotic comments like getting cut by a headbutt is the worst argument you could have used as your "defense." Everyone gets cut by headbutts at some point, its not something anyone can help. Manny's been cut by a headbutt, so I guess we can put that he's prone to being cut as well? Or, are you saying that Manny should headbutt in order to open a cut? I'm not saying soft skin doesn't matter when comparing fighters, but using headbutts as an excuse for it... come on man. The last time Cotto was cut by a punch (not counting Marg's brick hands) was in the Judah fight. Aside from there the only times he's been busted open are by headbutts, the soft skin angle doesn't work on Cotto, sorry.
As for Manny's defense... just because Manny didn't get touched by an old ass DLH doesn't mean ****. But guess what... HE WAS hit by an old ass DLH, and he caught Manny with a flush body shot which backed Manny onto the ropes and allowed DLH to land 3 straight left hooks. Oscar doesn't even know how to cut off the ring and he was still able to Manny on the ropes. Then we have Hatton who is ****, but he had NO problems getting to Manny he was all over him. Except... Manny fought a guy who actually has even worse defense than him and when you put an offensive wizard like Manny into the ring with a guy who uses his chin as his guard of course he's going to be laid out.
You are a typical Pacfan though and nothing I'm going to tell you is going to sink because you think Manny is God. I'm also 99% sure you never saw any of Manny's fights with Marquez, as you'd see exactly what I'm talking about in which Manny has no defense. If Manny is backed up the very first thing he does is cover is head, not with his gloves but with his elbows. He leaves his entire lower body exposed, that is not good defense. Manny also doesn't get hit because his offensive agility and in/out movement is so solid. Essentially his offense is his defense, which is great I'm taking nothing away from him whatsoever, but backing up on the DEFENSIVE Manny is NOT Floyd, nowhere near it. Cotto's defense isn't superb, but it isn't bad either. Watch the Clottey fight again, Cotto landed about 25% or so of his punches on Clottey and up until the cut Clottey's connect percentage was the same maybe a percentage or two higher. Same with the Mosley fight, Cotto's connect percentage was roughly the same as Mosley's. Cotto gets hit with some hard shots, but so does Manny when he faces a high quality opponent, none of which the last three were.

moron. Sorry, but he chosen to be one of them. Angelo Dundee and Ronnie Shields were the smarter opinion. Simple like this, my prediction for this fight will be Miguel Angel Cotto by KO in 6-8 rounds
