HBO 24/7 ratings are significantly down with Pacquiao/Cotto.

I don't lokk at it that way, because this is a conversation...and not a competition. And i would rather learn/ be wrong than "win" with fake numbers or inaccurate stats. I guess you view it differently.

There are a lot of other threads. Please go enjoy.

ok...but have they gotten that appeal in the US?

how many fights it took lennox lewis to get big mainstream appeal in the US? alot right? even after defeating tyson...american fans still didn't give him the respect he deserved...why? because he's not american.

that bull**** that they say about him not having the ''spark'' that tyson had (in which they thought was the reason why nobody respected lewis) it's COMPLETE CRAP!

Pac fights, then flies home. Hatton fought, then flew home. Even Tito would go back to PR.

Meanwhile, FMJ was doing a ton of American TV. Oscar was always involved in the American media. Tyson, same. Holyfield, same.

Heck, Evander is STILL in commercials.

If Hatton had decided to parlay his personality here stateside, he could have been huge. Well, except for that whole getting-knocked-unconscious-in-every-fight thing.

Lewis was a different animal. People DO expect their heavyweight champs to be tough guys. Not tea-and-crumpet types who play chess and have wicked rumours about their sexuality.

I think Lennox' "refined air" was damaging to his commercial appeal.

Yes, I would have rather watched Mayweather fight a legitimate welterweight who had a chance at being competitive, than to see Mayweather beat a Lightweight that I knew didnt have a chance at competing.

what do you want? popular international boxers like pac and cotto WHO CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH properly do commercials? what would be the american viewers' reaction to it? .

that's why the american media never bothers with athletes who are not american.

Hey pass your message on to anyone who says that Pac brings more to the table or is a bigger atrraction than floyd. Oh and dnt forget those that claim Pac automatically deserves the lions share if they fight.
