Resumes don't lie??? Paquiao has been fighting midgets most of his life while Cotto's been fighting corley, branco, malignaggi, quintana, zab judah, mosley, Margarito. Some just don't know

I've never understood why people put this. Since when has Cotto ever been a one punch early KO guy? Most of his KO's come in the later rounds, as his older fights have shown. He's last two major fights were Margarito and Clottey, both guys outweighed Cotto by about 10 pounds on fight night AND both guys had a height and reach advantage on Cotto. Of course he isn't going to do as much damage as him facing a smaller guy, and when both guys were never KO'd in their careers, and only one knockdown between the two, of course Cotto is not going to be able to plow through these guys. However, he's shown against Judah and Mosley that he can handle speed, he can counter-punch, and he has the power to at least keep the smaller from rushing him or constantly pressuring him like Margarito did.

All these same statements can be the same for Cotto's defense. Yes, he was shown to be hit a lot against Clottey, but he had that vicious cut. Margarito... he was bleeding from his eyes, his face was a swollen mess, of course he'll be hit a lot after you've been pounded with plaster for 30 minutes. The body shots didn't help either, however, that was simply because Marg threw nearly 1000 punches, and Cotto's power had no effect on him. Manny will be the complete opposite of this, Cotto will have to take the more Margarito effect of pressuring him. Cotto has shown, especially when he's looked at his best, that he can neutral his opponents speed, has a great chin, does great body work, but perhaps most importantly he knows how to cut off the ring and has great ring generalship. I'm not saying this is going to be an easy fight for either man, but expecting Cotto to beat Manny with an early KO is nonsense.

yeahh...your correct. it just shows that cotto is not a one-punch ko boxer. but what im saying is, cotto being the bigger ang stronger boxer as what most cotto fans keep repeating, could and should dispose the midget pacquiao in the early rounds. if he can't do this, then cotto is in trouble. we all know that he will gassed-out in later rounds, and this i think will be pac's bg chance to either ko cotto or win the late rounds.

btw, cotto doesn't have a granite chin. just look at the torres fight were he got tagged more than once.

One judge had the fight even at the end of the fight, which means that JMM won the majority of the fight on that judge's scorecard to have it even. The other two judges I believe had Pac winning by just a small margin. JMM was hitting Pac in order to have that kind of comeback on the judge's scorecard. To be honest, I gave him the fight by a small margin. The individuals on this boxing forum that believe that Pac is too fast to be hit are mistaken. He could be hit, and it will all depend if Pac can take Cotto's punches. Also, the fight could be over fast if Pac can catch Cotto like he caught Hatton, and Cotto cannot take Pac punching power.
I do agree with you, if you watch the Hatton fight Manny does get hit alot in that fight agains a sloppy Hatton. Don't get it that ppl are saying that Manny is so fast he is not gonna get hit. I guess they are talking of the ODLH fight, but Cotto is not ODLH

cotto is stronger but the difference is cotto can box very good and manny has had problems with fighters that can box.everybody saw how affective cotto's jab is.at some point manny will have to stand and brawl.thats when he'll feel the power in the jab and then to the body.

                    • Fact, Cotto at 140 wouldn't have knocked out Ricky Hatton in 2 rounds, and in fact that would have been a really rough fight that I give either guy a chance of winning. That shows you the strength and punching power of Paq compared to Cotto as he moves up in weight.

Let's be honest, Cotto hasn't looked good at all since the Margarito fight. He looks gun shy and when he starts backing up it's all over for him.
