Clottey Responds To Refusing $650K For Paul Williams

I really cannot defend Clottey in this, Am trying to find a reason to back him or defend him on this but cant..Simple.

HBO has never been interested in a Williams/Clottey fight from the begining but since Clottey fought Cotto on HBO that has helped him enough for HBO to be interested in having him back on with Williams.

The problem is for this fight to happen according to Clottey he would have to wait till february or March because HBO has commit themselves to Mosley and by March we would have people like Mayweather,Cotto,Pacquiao or Hopkins who would be ready for their next turn of fights so where would that leave someone like Clottey??

The old time fighters were ready to take a fight at the drop of a hat, because they knew that they had to make the most of any opportunity that might present itself.

For that much money (the highest payday in his career!) Clottey should be ashamed of himself if he passes on the offer.

He isn't saying that 650k isn't good enough money, he's saying that it isn't enough money for SHORT NOTICE against a guy like P WILL!.
