when and who particpated in the last huge pay per view event in the UK? If you can fight, you can fight i don't care where you come from. the best fighters in the world come to the US to fight do they not? Pac-man vs Marquez, a phillipino and a mexican, Sturm vs DLH german vs. mexi-american, Lewis vs Vklit, english/canadian vs ukrainian to quote the great Jimmy Page " if you make it big in england you can pay bills, if you make it big in the states you won't have bills"

it's not that people want them to fail, but simply they want them to prove they are for real!! we are still waiting on scott harrison, joe calzaghe and ricky hatton to name a few!! also junior witter, micheal gomez and alex arthur!!

I hate ppl who will run their mouths then back out of rankings as opposed to having to back up their big words I.E. ricky hatton, not fighting V Harris for fear it would go to purse bids and he would get his ass kicked and not get enough $$ in return, ****in coward!
It was Harris who pulled out of the bout after initially accepting. Fair enough, his reasoning was sound - as champ why should he travel and accept less money than the challenger? - but it was Harris who pulled out after initially agreeing.

I can understand people not loving Lennox due to his aloofness and somewhat dull style, but whenever he fought people really wanted him to lose badly - look at how excited the crowd were in the second Rahman fight.

Well i'm glad you dont care were fighters come from.

My point is that a fighter who nobody has seen is assumed to be bad unless they dont fight in the US. Just because the US is a good place to earn money doesnt mean you have to fight there to be good.

Its obvious from the rating etc that the best fighters are from all over the world, most will be drawn to the US for the glory and money but as long as people understand that choosing to fight outside the US is nothing other than personal preference.

If i were pro, i would love to go to the US and take your $'s!! But thats because i like to travel and would love to walk into a stadium full of hate agaisnt the home fighter.

Depends, if they are fighter's with limited exposure in the US, then of course people would knack them. But I don't think race is the issue here. If you can fight and you're winning, you're bound to obtain the respect of most.

it's not about race!! it's about proving ur the best and fighting the best here in the states. now im not saying fighting here in the states against the best fighters from the usa, but i mean coming over here to fight the best fighters in the world. cuz they all come here. i am mexican but i want them all to come over here to fight the best. i mean, there could be 3 or 4 or 5 badass mexican fighters within a weight division or one division away and they all fight each other over here. so why can't the british fighters come over here to face the best!! alot of them are protected and that is true!! u can't deny it!! we know the best fighters come from all over the world, but they come to the states to fight and prove they are cuz all of the best fighters come here to fight!! so british fighters need to do the same. so scott harrison, alex arthur, micheal gomez, ricky hatton, junior witter, and calzaghe need to come over here and not just talk ****!! i mean hatton and calzaghe have been saying for the last 2 or 3 years that "this was there year and would finally prove they are for realz and come fight in the usa." it hasn't happened yet! hurry up!!

I've no objection to British fighters fighting in America occasionally but it's hardly fair on the British fans to expect them to wait up until 4am on a regular basis to see the fights. I think I've managed it once in my life time...I usually passout in a drunken stuper about 10 minutes before the fight starts.

The main reason boxers from around the world choose to fight in the USA is the money on offer. British fighters can generally earn as much, if not more, by fighting at home so the incentive's not as great.
