I'm english and my opinion is that out 'top' fighters need to travel the world to get world wide respect, it doesn't take a genius to work that out.
If your a good fighter then i'm not bothered where your from, just be willing to prove it.
I can appreciate with some of the american fighters that they can make money in their home town or state etc but if they travelled the world, and i don't just mean britain and europe then i'd certainly warm to them a little bit more (nice to see fighters in the flesh). Say just for example if someone like hopkins fought eastman over here the money generated would be awesome, like when tyson fought at the m.e.n against francis who at best has only been an average domestic level fighter, he sold the place out and then some.
Real fight fans like myself who would love to travel everytime a big fight was on but can't cos of family priorities, we would come out in droves to see a well respected champion fight close by.
By the way did any of you rate McGuigan

if thats the case how come there are so many detractors to Naz, and also I had an argument yesterday about howard eastman deservedly getting his shot at Hopkins, you cant have it both ways. "I like english fighters but they should travel more" and then argue that a mandatory number one challenger doesnt deserve his shot agianst hop in the USA, they have to have the opportuinty to travel to be able to fight abroad, if you deny them that then of course they will fight in their back yard...........

i know people are going to fire off hatotn as a counter- example or calzaghe, Well hatotn will fight stateside next year, and Calzaghe well you are right about calzaghe he shgould have got off hios arse a long time ago instead of fighting fringe top tenners.

          JPW...

It's so obvious that the world's dislike for this guy has nothing to do with him fighting out of the U.K.

His ridiculous style & attitude is what brings the hate.

I can see why his attitude was annoying to alot of people but his style was amazing. He did things with that style that some thought were impossible.

i agree, there were people that were saying danny williams is a bum (i'm sure almost certainly all americans) and then some idiots thinking that hasim rahman could unify the division. I mean what the hell!!!!!!!!!!!! If danny williams was american all the yanks would be saying that he will beat klitschko! but there you go, this is a country that recently voted george bush in as their president for a second term, nice!

Amazing ? At times, other times it was ludicrous.

He showboated too much......& flew all over the ring, looking like an *******.

There were times he did things, & I marveled at how he could both do & get away with those things.

i totally agree jabs i couldnt stand him but i rate him on his boxing ability, keeping the two seperate, i shouted for barerra by thew way and you know how I'll fight for brit fighters credibility!!! So that tells you how much i disliked Naseem, that apart he still was a quality operator when he was with ingle.
