danny williams could be from pakistan, he's still a flash in the pan, i happen to like a few UK fighters Nigel Benn, being one of my all time fav's, i liked Eubanks also, can't stand to hear about Ricky Hatton, or Jcal, hatton talking all that **** about KT, Kostya would destroy that guy, he's the mandatory for the IBF, he was WBA #1 contender what happened there? Frank warren is afraid of losing his meal ticket, but i got respect for anyone brave enough to step in there and trade punches, be they korean, mexican, british, irish, purple, it doesn't matter, but when guys get built up beating stiffs, and never wheres , how can they go about calling out named fighters. I hate ppl who will run their mouths then back out of rankings as opposed to having to back up their big words I.E. ricky hatton, not fighting V Harris for fear it would go to purse bids and he would get his ass kicked and not get enough $$ in return, ****in coward!

totally agree with the stuff about hatton. Warren has a lot to answer for a lot of his fighters not having defining fights! He does not nake competitive fights for the public, he just looks to line his fighter's pockets and his own. Some one say that is him doing his job well, but it ain't good for us fight fans.

Don't get me wrong, I was in the US last month - I had a great time. But when you see an English guy boxing there seems to be a real sensation of people willing them to fail, in a way that they don't other "foreigners". Mind you, Lennox was hard to like.
I think there definitely is, and poor Lennox got the brunt of it. He is a GREAT heavyweight champion and should get all of the respect in the world. The U.S. has tried to keep its dominance in boxing while it was waning, and has seen England as the scapegoat and targeted their fighters. England being a great rival of theirs. But now that U.S. boxing dominance is in the dumps, at the amateur level and at certain other divisions, they have nobody to blame..there are tons of former Soviet Union countries which have great fighters and champs.

and hence them deserving the dissrespect htey have. But American fans need to realize that sometimes their own fighters are getting protected just as much as European fighters, although on the Average I'd say European fighters are much more protected. Heck, look at Valuev.

There is no problem with amateur boxing in the U.S.

the problem is the bull**** international boxing has become....due to the ridiculous scoring system.

The U.S. REFUSES to train it's fighters to fight the way necessary to win internationally.
I say, "Thank God" to that.

Amateurs (internationally) are being forced to fight in a fashion that resembles fencing, more than it does boxing/fighting.

You can make fun of me all you want JPW, it is always deserved.

I have heard you bring up the Yorkshire hunters name a few times and I was wondering if you could give me an update as to his health?

A couple of months a go I purchase Ingle/Naz which I had to have for my collection, I also loved Ingle vs. JR. Jones...he was a tough little scrapper that almost got the job done against the prince, I hope he is doing better...what is his status?

I dont really want to stereo type US boxing fans but its definitly true, Most(not all) assume that a boxer is no good if they dont fight in the US, most US fans assume that a fighter is useless before they have even seen them.

A good example is Strum, everyone said he had no chance against DLH before anyone had even seen him fight!! LMAO.

In the case of Sturm facing Oscar.....it was a case of an inexperienced, unknown commodity facing one of the best in the world. Didn't even mater that Oscar had never fought at 160.
Also, considering Oscar had the Hopkins fight signed, it was hard to imagine his people scouted out Sturm & didn't think he was easy pickings.

I know...I don't care about where a fighter is from.

i agree with jabs totally, i also understand that american promoters protect their fighters also, J Taylor for one, it happens all the time but the real difference is when it's time to step up and actually fight someone as good if not better how many ppl actually do?
