hatton im sure did fight on terrestrial tv but on undercards . I have a tape of haaton pro debut lying around somewhere and its being commentated.Comment

Thats not true and you know it.
Hatton was fighting gatekeepers and Contender for 2 years before he got teh Tzsyu fight.
Phillips (coming off a MD loss to Shamba Mitchell), Tackie (Previous two fights being Tzsyu and Mitchell the 1-2 in the divsion), Steward (Again went 12 with Mitchell) and Oliveria. the last two both being eliminators for the IBF belt.
These where the guy you beat to get a title shot.Comment

I'm a casual boxing fan and I didn't hear about Hatton until he was doing it big against the likes of Tackie/Magee etc on Sky. The Olympics put Khan in the limelight and he rode on that through ITV who treated us to Khan v Trash Can 1, Khan v Trash Can 2, Khan v Trash Can 3 ad infinitum followed by horrible ass-kissing interviews.Comment

Well lets educate you then, its because he won an olympic silver medal at 17, He was Team GB only representative because the rest didnt qualify to represent us, Because he was so young his story was followed at the olympics by millions of people.
when he decides to turn pro the TV networks were queuing up to continue is story, Much like Oscar de la hoya did when he won the gold at barcelona 92 and he dedicate it to his mum, when oscar went back home he was a star and even his first fight was on PPV..Comment

Hattons first 10 opponents had a combined record of 78-179-22 whereas khan's had 117-99-10 so your point is irrelevant. Regardless of these numbers fighters always fight the regular bunch of stiffs in there first few fights. Just because he blew away the stiffs ( which is what someone of his amateur pedegree is supposed to do) shouldnt be a cause of hate .Comment

Please dont twist it, Philips was 39 and done he was brought over for the WBU for hatton to feast on because he had beateb Tsyzu years before, Tackie was a one-dimensional guy who can take a punch but no skill, Again Mike joker stewart wasnt suppose to be fighting Hatton, sharmba mitchell was suppose to be fighting Hatton, warren even brought him over to fight steward and when he saw how Mitchell toyed with steward he realise he is too good of a mover for Hatton so he signed the loser of the bout to face hatton.
Hatton was handed his path to stardom by warren if not for warren who basically brought hatton's ranking he didnt do anything significant.Comment

So nobody seen it. If the general US public had a bunch of R.1 knockouts on free to air tv, they'd get sick of it pretty damn quickWell lets educate you then, its because he won an olympic silver medal at 17, He was Team GB only representative because the rest didnt qualify to represent us, Because he was so young his story was followed at the olympics by millions of people.

yeah but Hatton wasn't going to generate the same resentment because 1.) nobody saw it on terrestrial tv, 2.) there wasn't a huge amount of hype about it.Hattons first 10 opponents had a combined record of 78-179-22 whereas khan's had 117-99-10 so your point is irrelevant. if you're british you'll know people were and are sick of audley harrison too, more hype more trash cans.
But credit to Khan he's stood up when he's faced real boxers and become a World Champion, still doesn't match up to all the hype yet but maybe he will in the future.Comment

Pretty much agree with this...i like khan, hes a good guy, he is confident not arrogant....He is humble aswel...I've asked a similar question before.
Some will say he is too arrogant and was exposed by Prescott.
I think his "arrogance" is more of confidence...something a fighter needs. He seems better off now that he already got knocked out as well. A bit humbling experience for him. It should help him understand his strengths and weaknesses.
Many interviews with him are up on youtube which are good to watch.
One of the things I like about him is that after he lost he wanted to get better and made the move to the States to do just that.
He has now won a title, is still young and improving, and can have a good career ahead if he stays on track.
He just needs to keep winning and go on to beat top talented fighters.
That's my opinion from an outside perspective.
People in england especially dont like him, cos he is asian, they will always deny it but its true....Apparently according to a few boys from my college class "the only reason they say he is good is because he is asian" .... Yh rite, if he was black or white he would be the next Ali with them...
I dont see why he gets so much hate, and i dont think the newspaper help him either...people get sick of seeing the same person in the paper, and they do hype him up more then they should but thats not his fault...
And in todays world people expect a boxer the age of 22 yrs old to have all the best fighters in the world on their resume ...Comment
