To say the fight with Canelo is more exciting/interesting than a Bivol match up is a very bizarre statement. 3 Years ago i would have agreed. At this point the fight only makes sense for Benavidez personally since he gets a big bag, another KO victim + the credit to be the first to stop canelo and most likely make him or his corner quit. And not forget the personal satisfaction to beat up Canelo from round 1 to the later rounds.

Everyone knows the outcome including Canelo so why even have this fight making Canelo duck him was a bigger statement than beating him could be. Bivol vs Benavidez a 50/50 fight for 175 supremacy is what we need.

Agree with Smith he is stylewise one of the easiest opponents he will get beat up so bad that is another mid to late round stoppage for sure. Morrell would be more interesting but let that men learn a bit more and make his own lane. this version of Buff Guy Artur would be a very good or good opponent. Saul Santos is a good opponent these days

You cant list Beterbiev and Canelo both as equal saying good opponents for the same guy. Beterbiev is still a wrecking machine a guy technical sound underrated IQ and unbelievable KO power. Canelo went the distance with Ryder and Berlanga enough said.

If Canelo is a good opponent than Beterbiev is an elite all time great legendary opponent even at 41

Beterbiev is an old elite fighter. he would be benavidez`s best win bar far. I don˙t believe Danny beats Beterbiev.

Beterbiev has superior Ring IQ; great skills and movement. His power is there. he is 1-1 with Bivol because Bivol is elite fighter himself.

I know of one instance where Fat Dave turned down a Buff Guy Artur fight. Fat Dave was holding out for a Saul Santos fight and wanted to continue weight bullying at 168

This zurdo fight. It's obvious turk was setting him up to fight Artur next. That's why he put them on the same card. David knew it too. Even after Artur pulled out from card David knew turk was still gonna put pressure on him to fight Artur. The writing was on the wall. So what does David do?....he goes behind the scenes and makes the zurdo fight before the yarde fight even happened then immediately announces it after the fight. He wasn't gonna give turk any chance to make him fight Artur. This zurdo fight was 100% made to avoid beterbiev. No doubt about it.
