Bivol's body won't be there for Benny to hit. Zurdo (who Bivol already outboxed comfortably) mostly plodded forward and presented an easy target. Benny had to expend a lot of energy keeping Ramirez off him and showed signs of (at least temporary) fatigue. It paid off because he stopped Zurdo half way but it would have been interesting to see how his stamina held up had it gone longer.

Bivol - Benny is still the main fight for me, hopefully that comes next after the Eifert tuneup. I suspect he's still on the hook for the Beterbiev trilogy though.

I really hope someone out there coughs up the 250 million that Canelo wants to fight Bennavidez because that would mark his last fight as a professional. Benavidez knocks Canelo out - that fight doesn't go any other way! Canelo can't hang with Benavidez for 12 rounds, anyone who thinks he can must be clinically insane.

Beterbiev had success going to Bivol's body in their first fight. In the first half of that fight Bivol was on his bike and leading but then Beterbiev started walking him down and hitting him to the body against the ropes which began to slow his movement down. I feel like Benavidez can follow that blueprint but execute it more effectively especially with his combination punching and hand speed.

Beterbiev is a technically superior boxer to Benavidez, especially in the footwork department. Bivol will be more easily able to control the distance against Benavidez which will cause the latter to throw more jabs while following him around and unable to set himself for power shots.

If an old Beterbiev is able to get to Bivol, Benavidez will be able to get there too. That one would be a close fight that would depend on Bivol's stamina and willpower, both of which he has in spades. Toss up fight.

You're reducing the analysis to age when there's obviously far more to technical analysis than that. I explained my rationale in the following post.

Benavidez's footwork may not look amazing, but he is able to cut the ring off somehow, which he did against Plant and the Cuban very well. I think Benavidez has an underrated boxing IQ. He does a few things that look wrong, but he makes them work to his favor.

I am not into the Fat Fave hype train but we all need to give him props when he deserves it. It's funny that both of them begin their career at 168, if I am not wrong, and they have met at the 200 limit.
If you think Pear Man has the kind of power to crush cruiserweights, then I have a beach in Wyoming to sell you. He chose Turdo because he knew a few flurries would get Turdo to quit and enhance the BS "monster" narrative.

I remember how not too long ago, many of you guys were over the moon about William Zepeda. Now, after Shakur handled him with ease, Zepeda is never mentioned and is conveniently relegated to the "nothing special" bin. I've seen this type of Revisionist History before. Many times.
