this percentage talk is a nonsense - you can't spend a percentage bill you spend dollars. Boots should name his price - if he's happy with 7 million or whatever forget what the other guy gets - and 1 million extra for the winner - so 8 million if Boots wins.

Like many of us said after hearing the promotors talk after the Lubin fight, this fight ain't happening..

Boxing is shady, but lying with a smile to those who pay their hard earned $ to watch the fights and doing so like fans are gullible children is a very bad move. They forgot how business works and who's really desperate.

Oscar looking for a way out ... without looking like he's looking for a way out.

Oscar is right. Ortiz has fought alot better competition and he has a built in huge fanbase being Mexican, for right or wrong. Boots needs Ortiz far more than Ortiz needs him. Boots is not a huge name among casuals and boxing as a sport in general is not as huge anymore.

I fully expect Boots to take the split as offered and go in to do what he has been saying he wants to do for years.... to beat a prime great fighter and make his name. I think he can very well beat Ortiz. Boots needs to accept the offer and go in and smash Ortiz if he can. It would be huge for his career. He has spent his career fighting nobodies.

                60 + 40 = 100
Where'd the extra 5% come from ? Oscar must be doing that Promoters math , or coke.

That’s a 5% negative in terms of the split which is obviously a negligible amount. No reason the fight shouldn’t be made with those terms
No it doesn't, it amounts to 60% to Ortiz, 45% to Boots...

i assume he means the winner gets bumped up by 5% & the loser bumped down by 5%

PPV percentages turn into real money and lots of it , forget the house , PPV is where the long green is.
