So he wasn't shot when he KO'd (Palm Out) Hellinuis in what was clearly scripted.

Men like Zhang and Parker were always the favourites, regardless when they fought Wilder, regardless what the odd makers think. But of course, who needs such a viewpoint when excuses can always be made and easily lapped up.

I also believe Parker and Zhang would have beaten any version of Wilder.

Lies. I am, was then, and will be in the future, the beginning, middle, and end of Wilder's fanbase here.

You got pissy over a fly by night commenter who left maybe a handful of posts during their time here? Okay, then it was me and I don't rate HWs on p4p.

What you mean is the social media frenzy worked on you because you are a mark who thinks spending a lot of time around boxing media makes you more than casual fan. Close?

        up through Fury 1.

Fury 1 he mostly got outboxed

Fury 2 when tyson realized he could back up wilder and wilder wasnt used to being crowded and backed up he got really beat down that fight, that took at lot out of him and the 3rd fight as well.
I think the 3rd fight was the nail in the coffin for his prime. 3rd fight he did better than the 2nd fight.
yes Deontay's prime went into the rematch or trilogy

he went into those fights with the confidence that he about ko'd Fury

knocking down the best guy for close to 10 seconds will boost your confidence

If you are a fan of Wilder, you are a casual. Same as Gervonta Davis fans. Watching a guy dispose of overmatched fighters just because it’s exciting to see somebody get knocked out is practically the definition of casual

I feel like prime Wilder for me was second Bermane fight. Flattened him in 1 and then went on to a battle with Ortiz 1 where it went back and forth. He got rocked himself, but then comes back to rock, drop and eventually stop Ortiz. I don't care about the age talk about Ortiz. He was a solid heavyweight technically and very powerful himself.

Then gives Fury a tough fight earning the draw. Goes on to flatten Breazeale in 1 right after that. The rematch with Ortiz had me worried that his spark ran out since Ortiz was banking every round and Wilder didn't do almost anything. Though then he caught Ortiz confident and disarmed when the 10 second bell rang if I recall. Similar to Pac-Marquez. You think there is zero danger and you're about to walk to your corner in a few seconds only to have your lights turned out.

Though then that was it. He fought Fury in the rematch where he took a lot of damage as did he in their trilogy match. Some say it has to do with the coach change that really effected him, but I don't know. I think the overall damage he took in fights may have finally worse on him.

I never saw that. Wilder was embarrassing to watch when he windmilled.

Now that he has P4P power in that right hand is another thing.

This is the problem with modern post social media discussions in general (sports, politics, media, etc). Most people on every side of a discussion are level headed and just have a differing opinion than the other side. But there is a small percentage of whackoos, trolls, and antagonists. They get noticed, and then they become the straw man that people argue against. Oppositions feel justified because they project this strawman onto all of those who disagree with them.

I was a fan of Wilders, why? Rooting for the American, I liked the idea of him coming to the sport late and making something of himself to support his daughter, I liked that he was a rangy fighter with freaky power- same as most of his fans. Do I recognize he did some not so bright stuff...yeah, same as most of his fans.

Problem is, each side argues with the strawmen and this pushes them outward, they become more entrenched and have to then respond back with more fervor, and soon the levelheaded ones are acting out of pocket (see virtually every May Pac discussion). When the real lesson should be be confident in your own opinion, and quit arguing with the strawman trolls out there- they just move you further off your reasonable point than you move them.
