Though the cost of getting caught - especially if you have the right people behind you - is pretty low. And the probability of being caught far lower. But still. What is the price of integrity?
Integrity is out the window when it comes to competitive sports.

Most of the time, PEDs are the path to being at the top + a lot of money. Most athletes will and do take that path.

Especially when you find out how minor it is to take them and the fear is gone. I started taking PED's in my early 20's. I was very worried to make that jump to the hard stuff, injecting myself, etc. Then once you do your first jab and you're like, "Is that it???", then a week later you feel like Superman, the wheels are well and truly off at that point.

Thanks for the insight. Was (is?) your use just for personal, non-competitive reasons? It's bad enough for people to use PEDs in something like track or golf, but boxing and combat sports are different.

I used because I was a professional body builder.

Now I just use a TRT dose of Testosterone year round.

Using PEDs in a sport where it’s prohibited is cheating but yes to use in combat sports is crazy.

I appreciate the info. If I'm not mistaken, there are no regulations against PEDs in body building, unless it's a strictly "natural" competition. Is that correct? A buddy of mine and his brother were body builders some years back. Said it's very political as to who wins.

Bodybuilding is untested, yes. Professional Body building.

Even "Natural" or "Tested" Bodybuiling, most of the athletes use PEDs.

For the last part, in a sport where the scoring criteria is so subjective, it's often met with some bad decisions. The best guy hasn't won on the Olympia or Arnold stage many a time.
