Not surprised. Simpson's chin is made of Glass and this was exposed when he fought that Midget Italian, so im not surprised heavy handed troy was able to jump two weight classes. I JUST WISH I PUT MONEY ON TROY SMFH

This was a really good fight with Callum Simpson off to a good start, but slowly using his natural advantages less and less. Troy Williamson welcomed the opportunity to infight more as the distance closed and finished the business in the tenth round with unrelenting pressure. It was also good for boxing in the UK as this was a free to air fight on the BBC. Hopefully folk will tune in for more.

Simpson didn’t know what to do once he got hit. He neither claimed his man nor was able to get on his bike. The referee not replacing Callum’s gum shield was shocking. He could have ended up with the ring floor covered in blood and teeth!

The woman commentating is really well informed - knows her boxing. The guy in the ring afterwards doing the interviewing is muted and respectful making it about the boxers. Good coverage of a good fight. Williamson seems to have under-performed in his career but this is a welcome late flourish. When he says "this has changed my life for good" I'm curious to know how much he made for this one fight - I suppose enough to buy an average house outright which in Darlington would be pretty damn cheap

Well done Troy, always felt like an 'almost' guy, and finally has a proper signature win.

Hate to bring this down to promotions, but damn, BOXXER are in big trouble now. Just Azim and maybe Lauren Price to carry it.

Not likely to be able to get many fights on actual TV now, likely BBC3 only, and renewal will be tough too

People called Benavidez the biggest weight bully this and that yet Simpson is significantly bigger than Benavidez, there is a photo both next to each other Simpson is not only taller but just overall bigger also more muscular than Benavidez who is always skinny fat at 175 even more.

However that just shows you that it's mainly about skills, talent, Ring IQ. This guy has similiar size and frame compared to Benavidez but his defense is non existing, no feeling for distance, no effective footwork not once did he bounced out of range when these slow punches from Williamson came into his direction. His Ring IQ non existing as well, poor punch selection and all of this against a fighter very well of a top 15 ranking.

I don't even wanna know how the sparring between Simpson and Beterbiev went. That must be pure punishment maybe he lost his chin in these sparring sessions.

At the moment or near future Martin Bakole would be their only hope to be honest. But this guy does not have the attitude of a fighter and he also traded a potential title run against quick money and now he will be even more lazy than before.

Azim has potential but his weight class if full of killers and i can't see him become champion in the next 2-3 years if they rush him they might destroy his potential so they better stay patient and let him develope a bit more.

It does not look good Caroline Dubios was skill and level wise the best fighter on their roster she is gone and Whitaker was marketing wise the guy and he is also gone.

Great fight. And it was good to see the passionate support for Callum Simpson 'even after he lost, a fair amount of fans were still in the arena supporting him'.

I also thought the referee was really on point, and displayed composure 'at the crucial moments in the fight, were it was won and lost for each fighter. I don't think anyone should be complaining over the referee, as it was a title fight and a pivotal moment in both fighters' careers'.

Note: In my opinion professional fighters, don't make sacrifices 'or put in extreme efforts outside the ring in training camps, for a fight to be stopped soon as the going gets tough'.

Like I have stated in some of my previous posts? Boxing is a combat sports, were the objective is the render your opponent incapable of fighting back 'this is achieved ether by knocking the opponent out or forcing them to forfeit the fight'.

This is why boxing fans watch the sport, and it is why professional fighters 'have throughout sporting history been held in very high regard and prestige. Due to the high jeopardy of the sport and courage the fighters must show to compete'.

To conclude: Troy Williamson has achieved his best and peak career win 'during a fight were really, in my opinion he was brought in to be smashed up'.

Callum Simpson seems like a similar fighter to Derry Mathews, maybe he is not quite world level 'but is well supported, and is involved in action packed fights. There is still potentially a lot more to give in his career, for himself and his loyal fan base'.

I think Callum Simpson deserves a rematch 'and the rematch will be a more highly anticipated a intriguing fight. Good fight' etc.
