Jake Paul is tough and brave

I don't know why people can't accept it.

Johnny Knoxville got KTFO by butterbean for a skit in jackass.

Some people are just like that, they don't have a normal "fear level", it's the same with like extreme sports athletes etc.

The Mike Tyson fight was a real fight (just one vs a 58 year old)

Jake isn't a "Disney kid", he's been training boxing with the highest level of coaching for 6 years now, he's got some guts, he's got a bit of athleticism about him.

Especially in the heavyweight division we have fat puddings like Dave Allen who can't even show up to a fight in shape.

He went into the ring. He got up multiple times. Fair enough.

But he went in with the intention to run for 8 rounds and not throw a punch. It was embarrassing to watch.

I think we would all do that for $100m if we also had access to the best nutritionists and training teams for 6 years as well.

    Some perspective needed I think.

It was either that or get knocked out within a minute or two.

Either way he was gonna go down. I'm still surprised that the narcissist chose this way out to save face. Maybe he couldn't handle the years of hate for all the easy matchups he took advantage of.

          Disagree.

He went in there with one objective only: survival via run and tackle (which was obviously planned and well trained)

The moment he got hurt, he quit. Yes, he quit .. that is what you would have said about any other opponent had they done that.

So overall he was after huge $$$ and survival.

But if you were trained for 6 years by the best coaches in the world, sparred many heavyweights and felt you could run for 8 rounds - while being paid $100m, you wouldn't take it?

I mean, it is brave, but it's not really is it?

But that's not the case anymore. People were not buying into the Tank fight and his sales have dropped when it's a washed up boxer/MMA guy. Netflix were not going to pay him a lot of money unless it was a real fight or a novelty. His options were limited.

He said post fight he wants 'time out' now. He probably already decided he's had enough and took the biggest money fight.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him squeeze in Canelo for instance, but it'll only be cash out fights now. Netflix aren't going to pay for him to fight a washed up drunk

I agree—Jake Paul showed courage by fighting a much bigger opponent. He’s willing to challenge himself, unlike some undefeated boxers who consistently choose smaller opponents, relying on their reach advantage and then proclaiming themselves the GOAT. Without that reach advantage, they’re simply average fighters with average skills.

By contrast, the Fighter of the Century, Manny Pacquiao, repeatedly faced larger opponents with longer reach and dismantled them in their prime. That is true greatness.

I don't think it was brave either other than the minimal that we expect from men who have the balls to step into a combat sports arena and fight.
