You have to admit Canelo has gotten the benefit of the doubt in many cases, from decisions to tainted beef.
That should be already in question.
His image is certainly over inflated.

"Teddy Atlas has never directly stated that Manny Pacquiao took steroids, but he has repeatedly implied it by making comments that suggest past use of performance enhancers."

          Key points regarding Atlas's stance:
          • Implication, not accusation: Atlas typically frames his opinions as questions for the public to answer, stopping short of a direct accusation to avoid potential defamation lawsuits, which the Mayweather camp faced and settled with Pacquiao over similar claims.
          • Physical changes: He pointed out that the "Manny" of later years was not as physically large or as powerful a puncher as the one from his prime years (pre-2009 knockout streak), and urged others to "figure out why".
          • Drug testing debates: During negotiations for a potential fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. around 2010, Pacquiao's initial reluctance to agree to Olympic-style random blood testing was a major talking point. Atlas commented that the "common man" would naturally wonder why a clean fighter would walk away from a large sum of money just to avoid a simple test, further fueling speculation.
          • General doping views: Atlas is known for his strong anti-doping stance in boxing, frequently vocalizing his belief that many fighters use performance-enhancing drugs without getting caught.
In summary, Atlas has consistently used suggestive language and rhetorical questions to imply that Pacquiao's career trajectory and physical changes were su****ious and potentially linked to performance-enhancing substances, without ever definitively claiming he had proof.
          Good ol Teddy

Since Floyd beat Canelo and Manny ducked him, one of Manny’s worst knob gobbling stans makes a thread like this.

            Pathetic.

Public perception around Canelo has definitely been shaped by controversial decisions and situations like the tainted beef case, which naturally raises questions for some fans. Image and reputation often depend on how narratives are presented, much like how a Favicon Generator can subtly influence how a brand is perceived online. Small details can have an outsized impact on public opinion.

He is a really good fighter who is way overhyped. Has an all timer chin.

When a guy has the entire hispanic fanbase behind him assuring him of big sales and thus turning him into the "face of boxing".....if we are being honest, the sport really needed a star and so the entire sport lined up behind him to turn him into the myth.

He is very good. But yeah he lost to GGG clearly twice, lost to Lara, and yes, he beat some big names but they weren't anywhere near their prime. That said, in the modern state of boxing pretty much all fighters cherry pick, the belts are mostly meaningless. It isn't about being the best for alot of guys, it is about selling the image of being the best and carefully choosing the right guys at the right time.

Saul is a good fighter, not an all time great.
