Going out on your own terms is the biggest win in boxing.

The only thing that was left to do was earn more money... but fair play, he didn't pander to casuals or organisations. Just set about being the best boxer of his era.

Plenty of respect for this decision. Hopefully he sticks to it.

The first time I saw Bud fight was against Gamboa. And I've been a fan of his boxing since. I, of course, watched all his prior fights after discovering him and tuned in for every fight since. He became the fighter I've most liked to watch. MAD SKILLS with a MEAN STREAK. That's the best combination for me. No controversial wins. And only two fights - the last two - with close scorecards, though both should have been much wider because he dominated each of those fights. And I love that he praised God with is first words after every victory.

Damn, I was hoping he'd lace 'em up a couple more times. But, I wish him the best in his retirement. LEGEND.

He retired because he was not paying sanctioning fees and Turki was done with him.

Pleasure to watch. Crawford was a fighter who had a high fighting IQ and was spiteful with it. He was also one of the best finishers in the sport once he had an opponent hurt.

I can't help but feel this decision was hastened by that fuqker Janibek popping dirty, Crawford alluded to perhaps having a run at 160lbs but without the possibility of 3 titles being on the line in a unification decided it wasn't worth it.

mikey garcia instead of moving up to welterweight. of course, mikey had already burned bridges with arum unfortunatelly (that eliminated mikey - loma too). that would allow time for horn - pac rematch outside of australia which pac would have won. THEN pacman - crawford. fundora or alimkhanuly between madrimov and canelo. there was a lot of time to do it.

none of these are ducks. i just wanted them to happen and they would enhance crawford's resume.

fantastic fighter. an atg. i enjoyed watching him fight since 2014. i also wanted him to retire after canelo because the flame wasn't there. he refused bivol, other contenders at 168 and middleweight champions indiviadually weren't big enough for him at this point. considering all that and 38 years old, retirement is the best option.

A determined mean Mothafacka with a chip on his shoulder who gave everything to boxing and got everything out of it. True legend! Happy retirement champ!

                      Well done Budman!

He's retiring on a big win. And apparently he's pretty well off financially with his property investments. And he seems to have all of his faculties about him. Why continue to fight? Hasn't he won like 14 different world titles in 5 weight divisions? And undisputed in 3 different weight divisions. There's not much more he can really do to cement his legacy. At this stage, I think pretty much everyone would have to rate him top 20 all time p4p. Right up there with the likes of Leonard, Robinson, Ali, Mayweather Jr., Pacquiao, etc.

The man has nothing left to prove in boxing. Hat's off to an amazing career.
