I agree. Vergil has a much better resume than Boots, but don't you find it odd that he's never fought for a real title across two divisions and 8 years as a professional? He was #1 to Crawford's WBO belt, but never wanted the smoke. Porter was #2. That's how Shawn got the shot instead.

Ennis didn't fight for the IBF interim title until his 31st pro fight. Ortiz only has 22 fights. Oscar is trying to set up a few fights with known opponents and build it up so he is the A-side or at least guaranteed 50/50. If he gets a title from Fundora he has more leverage. Boots knows his days at 154 are coming to an end. He is a large Jr. MW and will eventually have to move to 160/168. The photo of him after sparring Canelo he looked like a LHW.

Boots is a self-employed boxer. He doesn’t work for no one; Including Ortiz or Turki. They are not his boss.

He is his own boss and he fights whomever he pleases whenever he wants to and not before as he is demonstrating now.

Since Ennis says he is ready and DAZN has said they are ready. Then there is nothing there left to do but fight.

Unfortunately, for Ortiz; He wrote a check his ass can’t cash. Now DAZN is adamant about making that matchup ASAP.

So that Errol Spence Dream fight of his has sailed and there’s not a damn thing that Vergil could do about it. Not a damn thing!
