I agree. Vergil has a much better resume than Boots, but don't you find it odd that he's never fought for a real title across two divisions and 8 years as a professional? He was #1 to Crawford's WBO belt, but never wanted the smoke. Porter was #2. That's how Shawn got the shot instead.

I saw a video , five years ago , Ortiz saying how his dream fight is him and Spence , both being from Texas and guaranteed to sell out AT&T stadium and putting a sh/t load of money in his pockets
If he doesn’t fight Boots right afte4 and let’s not forget that Boots is the one who had stated that he wanted four bouts before facing someone of acceptable standards
So let Ortiz have his money fight and then face Boots
I think they were already negotiating with Spence hence why he was at the fight
Do I like it , no I don’t but been watching the sport for a long time and this sh/t seems to be the norm

Well, I hate to burst your bubble but the Spence fight will never happen. Well at least not in the foreseeable future.

It has been reported that DAZN and Turki have both vetoed it. The fight they want next is Ortiz vs Ennis.

That is according to published reports I’ve seen online. Perhaps it’s just a rumor but I don’t know.

Look, here’s the deal. If Ortiz’ Isn’t interested in fighting Ennis then he should have kept his name out of his mouth.

Until switching to DAZN; Jaron has never called out Ortiz but on the other hand, Vergil has been calling out “Boots” for years.

So now since Ortiz’ hour has come he wants to stand down but he cannot do that. It’s time for him to either put up or shut up.

After Ennis has stepped to challenge him to his face. Then he will look like a coward to the boxing world if he doesn’t accept Jaron’s challenge now.

Boots is a self-employed boxer. He doesn’t work for no one; Including Ortiz or Turki. They are not his boss.

He is his own boss and he fights whomever he pleases whenever he wants to and not before as he is demonstrating now.

Since Ennis says he is ready and DAZN has said they are ready. Then there is nothing there left to do but fight.

Unfortunately, for Ortiz; He wrote a check his ass can’t cash. Now DAZN is adamant about making that matchup ASAP.

So that Errol Spence Dream fight of his has sailed and there’s not a damn thing that Vergil could do about it. Not a damn thing!
