Why do people act like boxer skills today are better than the past ?

    I'd say the elites of yesteryear are better, but the average modern boxer is better/more skilled then the average boxer of the past. Just think how information is transmitted in the past: you got letters, books, almanacs, telephones. Today we got the same and more: internet, faster modes of travel, access to a global variety of trainers and styles and ideas. You can say the modern boxer has way more distractions then older boxers, but I think superior access to information and communication makes modern boxers more skilled.
