I thought it was unfair, and he should've got an 8-count at least to get back into the game. I'm aware he was hit clean previously, before him not really retaliating (other than two punches being thrown when he was on the ropes), but Wardley didn't really hit Parker clean either with his last 3 shots, nor do I think Parker was really hurt. Parker is also the type to go out on his shield.
Do you think the 'Joseph Parker' stoppage against 'Fabio Wardley' in the 11th Round was an unjustified stoppage?

If you are of belief someone needs to be nearly unconscious to be stopped it was premature. If this was Parker last ever fight, and the ref didn't need to worry about Parker fighting another day, putting food on table then it was premature stoppageg
But if you are caring about someone's future career, and future health then it was fair stoppage. Parker showed he was hurt and poker face wasn't good enough. Fabio didn't ever look hurt. You.need to be.more Oliver mcall, mercer, toney, like if you don't want to be stopped
So there's no t one answer. But a gun to head id say fair stoppage even if Parker could obviously continueLast edited by hugh grant; 10-26-2025, 06:50 AM. -

He was definitely hurt. My instinct was it was slightly early but not an outrageous stoppage and definitely not part of some huge conspiracy. Foster tends to err on the side of caution and Parker and his team will be aware of that. Parker never expected to be in that position in the first place, I think he fully expected to comfortably outbox Wardley. He never fully controlled the fight even though at times it looked like he might. His problem is that he doesn't do any single thing spectacularly.Comment

If you care about someone you wouldn't let them box and would stop the fight during the ringwalks. Once the fight is happening its strange to suddenly rely on hypotheticals especially when those hypothetical help the a side fighter. Oh this could have happened...but it didnt. If you are of belief someone needs to be nearly unconscious to be stopped it was premature. When I watched it live I thought the stoppage was premature and that Parker might pulled himself together and fought back if Howard Foster had given him a little more time.
But Parker and Andy Lee have accepted that Foster made the right call, and that's that, as far as I'm concerned.👍 1Comment

Exactly...the stoppage is 100% on Parker for not clinching or taking a knee and for taking 20+ punches without firing back.Comment

I thought it was early but I also saw that coming even before it was stopped I had said ref is going to stop it if Parker does not try attempting to fight back more. If it was me I would have let it go on a bit longer. But we have seen these type of endings plenty of times. You do not throw whilst opponents keeps throwing, even some missed punches ref will think are landing or just see the opponent throwing a load of unanswered punches, apart from a few punches Parker tried throwing back there was a lot of time Wardley was throwing punches at him with Parker doing nothing. I don't think there is ref conspiracy I think there are other refs that would have done the same.👍 1Comment

When did he take 20 punches? If you throw 20 punches at me and miss them all guess how many punches I took? 0. He wasn't landing. That is a very important detail that can't be dismissed or ignored. Parker was slipping the punches and he just threw 2 punches mere seconds earlier. There was no reason to stop thr fight but foster snd wardley hsve literally done this same thing in other fights. Its a racket. Wardley throws a bunch of sloppy wide punches in bunches and foster steps in. Coordination. Criminal. Foster doesn't step in when dubois is falling all over the ring agaisnt lerena.
