British boxing is in a pretty sad state of affairs. But no worries, Hearn "the used car salesman" and Old Fish Eyes will sell the brit fans garbage as if it were gold, and they will buy it and ask for more!

Daniel Dubois not being on this list is a joke, literally two straight Wembley fights with 90,000 fans.Comment

It's just low effort filler content, notice how there's an arbitrary list like this most weeks. I wish they would attempt some serious investigative journalism and have a dedicated sanctioning body correspondent who challenges each of their ridiculous decisions. They have the resources for it.Comment

That would be strange, because here in the United States, the boxers are the only British athletes we know.
we lightly follow professional Soccer because it's seen as a safer, non contact alternative to (our) football for our children. Here, Tennis and Golf are recreational, and Cricket, Rugby, are non-existent concepts.Comment

To conclude: Overall I think it is quite clear that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are miles ahead of all other British fighters in this rankings 'I suspect most of the other fighters, are just MEN in the moment i.e. fighters who just so happen to be winning right now, which naturally attracts casual boxing fans and glory hunters'.

I think for a fighter to reach this level in British boxing, is more easier than maybe other countries such as America 'because Great Britain is a sporting nation, people have a higher sense of duty to support their national athletes in all sports. Whether they are World level athletes or not'.
There are plenty of popular boxers in Great Britain, but really only two Mega Star boxers which are Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury etc.

Yes, Benn and Eubank as well, I typed that in too quickly, but the other guys he mentioned, nobody could care less about, at this moment in time, so putting those above names that people actually do follow, support, and know, is laughable. Nash out - His MajestyComment

Hatton's suicide is his legacy. His death by his own hand overshadows anything he achieved in the ring by his own hands.
Sorry, but taking the easy way out is never a cause for celebrating, especially others popularity in light of the pressure Hatton crumpled under trying to cope with the loss of it.Comment

I think Nick Ball should be up there, all things fair.
He's active, always taking on the hard fights and brings it every time.
The Liverpool crowd should be out in big numbers getting behind him, he's the best fighter they have produced since maybe Conteh.Comment

Looking at the fighters Worsell actually highlighted (Wood, Warrington, Billam-Smith, etc.), it seems he was ranking the most popular local/regional heroes, not global mega-stars. If you assume Fury and Joshua are an automatic Top 2, who are the actual 3-10 most popular domestic fighters in the UK right now? Does Daniel Dubois crack that list?
David Price in terms of sheer intensity, at his peak was the most popular fighter from Liverpool since John Conteh 'Price had not yet even fought for any World titles, and that was the level of support that he garnered. But in retrospect he was a Heavyweight fighter, competing during a exciting time in the division for British boxing'.
So a part from Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury 'who are of course global and mega boxing stars. In all honesty? The rest of the fighters mentioned on this rankings are all just MEN in the moment i.e. fighters that just so happen to ether be currently winning or consistently in entertaining fights at a solid level'.
Note: That is all it takes really to gain a certain level of popularity in British boxing, at domestic and national level 'it is a bi-product of British sporting culture. There is a very high sense of duty to support any athletes both at a domestic level and then definitively on the intentional stage'.
In the sport of track and field athletics, an American athlete called Michael Johnson once highlighted this difference in British and American sporting culture 'he commented on how he see's people celebrating Silver and Bronze medals in relays. And how the general public elevate and treat domestic and national level athletes with masses of support even before they have achieved any feats on a international stage'.
To conclude: The ranking list is about right outside of Joshua and Fury, but? It may alter next year. Because like I said most of those fighters are all MEN in the moment. A true test of their popularity, is how their supporters endure loses, or tough times in their careers.
That is why I have stated that Derek Chisroa and Chris Eubank Junior are number 3 and 4 'although they have not fought at the high levels of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. During their careers they have had to endure tough times. And right now in 2025, Chisora and Eubank Junior are still popular fighters with a very intrigued and passionate support base'.
Daniel Dubois is now experiencing a very tough time in his career 'I would say that he is popular, but not to the levels where he should be ranked on this list. The majority of people turned up to see Anthony Joshua beat Daniel Dubois, and be crowned as a 3 times World heavyweight Champion'.
Daniel Dubois's true test of popularity is going to be tested currently right now in his career 'but for me? I don't think he is a super popular fighter in the UK. Anthony Joshua's critics were just using him as a tool hoping that he would beat Joshua. And to his credit Dubois achieved that feat, he had his Any Given Saturday: In reference to the NFL movie: Any Given Sunday: 1999'.
But it is 2025, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are still miles ahead of any other British fighter 'Daniel Dubois is not even the ranking list' etc.
