Word Is: Morrell vs Smith in 2026

Getting word that David Morrell and Callum Smith are near a deal to fight in Saudi in early 2026. This would be a nice fight, man, and I really hope it goes through.

Callum looked okay taking Buatsi's 0, but Buatsi sucks. Morrell should light him up.

I hope Morrell's new trainer has taught him some patience and discipline. If he had the better of both, he'd be a complete fighter through and through.

Do think it is a good idea to push this fight for next year rather than make it at end of this year.

Morrell had two tough consecutive fights while Callum Smith himself might perform better after taking a break from the very competitive win over Buatsi.

Morrell will fight another light heavyweight ranked contender that is tested like Hot Rod and Khataev. This is a pretty great fight at Light heavyweight.

Morrell should be too much for Smith, he's a hard puncher and that power has followed up to 175lb where he hurt both Benavidez and Khataev. Khataev is actually very good himself, I reckon he'd smoke Smith easily and of course he was badly robbed against Morrell

From the title my first thought was that Morrel would be fighting Joe Smith Jr.
I doubt Joe Smith will be moving back down to Light Heavy, but you never know.

In any case, David Morrel VS Callum Smith is an interesting fight.

I haven't been happy with Morrell's management and how they moved him so quickly. I know he has an extensive amateur career, but he needs experience in the pros before taking on ****ing David Benavidez. Khataev could have easily beaten him and now they're putting him in the ring with another top contender. Sloooow down. Damn. Let him get some easy Ws and his confidence back before you throw him into another fire fight.

For a guy with 13 pro fights, he’s sure had a scorching schedule. That Khataev fight on the heels of Benavidez was a motherf ucker. Now Smith. If nothing else, David is showing he really wants it — he wants greatness. This is what fans say they want from fighters. Here it is. Morrell deserves attention.

Exactly. He also peeled five rounds off of Benavidez and dropped him. Morrell is the real deal.

Artur’s Cousin Imam went into the ring PED Powered so he starts with a -3 to -2 point deduction

he was only allowed to fight PED powered up since David was effectively a Random Cuban

had it been an opponent with pull Artur’s Cousin Imam would have been off for roiding going into the fight

with a lead hook on the shoulder

Mexican’s David has footwork issues that makes his balance suspect. He regularly drags his feet and breaks his base defensively and offensively

Top Soviet Bivol and Parker’s Cousin Buff Guy Jai box circles around him

In all fairness, that looked like a trip. I forget, since I haven’t watched in a while, but it wasn’t a legit KD. Morrell certainly acquitted himself well, however. He is in fact the real deal.
