Canelo vs Bud has to be one of the most embarrassing losses for a star in so long

I was a fan of Canelo a few years ago. Even when I stopped liking him and saw him on the decline, I did not think he'd seriously lose this badly. I put $20 on a Canelo decision.

I didn't expect him to lose almost every round in the way that he did. Bud is 38 ffs and was moving up 2 weight classes, practically 3 since the fight before was 147, and he was bullying Canelo like he was the bigger fighter. At least when Canelo lost to Floyd, Floyd is the goat, and Bivol was bigger and extremely skilled.

I can't think of a huge star like Canelo losing the way he did last week. I'm still just shocked. Respect to Bud.

Fury loss to Usyk was much worse.

Agreed. 40 odd million people watched as a junior middleweight moved up two weight classes to totally dominate the face of boxing, removing everyone of his titles in the process. In terms of the ways one could lose a fight that has got to be extremely humiliating for Canelo, especially on Mexican independence weekend as well

He has a hundred million reasons to get over it. And Crawford is that special.

Saul was a great but seldom dominant fighter

expectations were never stoopid crazy for him so I wouldn't say this fight was embarassing for Saul

Saul's 3 best wins 8-4 past prime Miguel, come from behind ko past prime Kovalev, and 8-4 past prime golovkin

I'm curious to see where this "embarrassment" ranks with those that came before it

It wasn't embarrassing, he's just coming to the end. I really liked how he took his defeat too, "I'm winning just being here". One need not be a multi millionaire sportsperson to adopt this philosophy. The miserable male forumites here could definitely learn something from this attitude.

I'd say Fury losing to Usyk, given the size discrepancy, the smack that Fury talked beforehand, and the fact that Fury is still in "denial" about those losses, is way more embarrassing than anything that Canelo endured last weekend.
