I have a strong feeling the fight looks something like this:
Rounds 1-2: Quiet rounds, nobody seems to do anything in these rounds anymore, and we just justify it as them feeling each other out.
Cards: 1-1, 1-1, 1-1
Rounds 3-6: Canelo increases the pressure and is the aggressor, as well as the one landing better. Bud has his moments here and there, but Canelo is doing most of the good work. As the 6th round comes to an end, the announcers note that Bud hasn’t really used his left very much as of recent, they start to speculate about a possible injury. Cards: 4-2, 4-2, 4-2, all for Canelo, though not all scored the same rounds the same way.
Rounds 7-8: Canelo is really coming on now, but the story of the fight is Buds lack of a left, the announcers go on about how this possible injury may be hampering him. They talk about whether the fight should be stopped. Cards: 6-2, 6-2, 6-2, all for Canelo.
Round 9: With a comfortable lead at hand, Canelo begins to coast a bit. Bud recognizes this and presses a bit more. He clearly has the better round, though its not spectacular just better than what he had been doing. The announcers go on about his heart, and the toughness of a true champion, even though this is as much about Canelo laying off the gas. Cards: 6-3, 6-3, 6-3, all for Canelo.
Rounds 10-12: Not much, Canelo is a little gassed and fights in spurts, he does enough to ensure that he wins a round or two (pending on what the judges want to base it on). Bud picks his spots, when Canelo isn’t active, and lands here and there but nothing great to end off the fight. Two of the judges give a little more of a nod to Bud, as it is always safer for them to have their cards be close. Cards: 7-5, 8-4, 7-5 UD for Canelo.
Interviews: After the fight Canelo is asked about Bud’s possible injury, he says, ‘he doesn’t know about it but claims the night was a victory for Mexico!’ His fans go bonkers. Bud is asked about the injury, he says, ‘yeah there is something wrong, but he’s a warrior and he was born to fight and wasn’t going to let it stop him or use it as an excuse.’ His fans immediately use it as an excuse.
Both sides fans take away some sort of victory and pride while the rest of the boxing community realizes all we saw was an old, past their prime, possibly injured fighter go too high up in weight and lose to another old past their prime fighter fighting at their more natural weight. Nobody takes anything away from the fight to change their opinion on either fighter.
Canelo in a boring ud, crawford then gets the at least he dared to be great praise and the going up two weight classes was too much excuse.
Hope I'm wrong and it's an entertaining fight regardless of who wins, canelo just seems to coast these days, probably getting paid too much and crawford wasn't very aggressive at 154,can't see him taking more chances two weight classes up, both are getting paid so both win regardless i suppose.
