Parker - Wardley official for October 25th: respect; this is how it's done

O2 arena. Rather than sitting around on 'interim' straps waiting for email belts, TBRB #1 Parker is facing TBRB #9 Wardley. The rest of the division should take notice, the winner deserves Usyk.

Have to favour Parker with his skills but Wardley has a puncher's chance.

It is a good fight, I agree. But? Like I have stated in other threads. What on earth has Joseph Parker been doing for the past decade? Since Anthony Joshua beat Parker easily in 2018, Parker has been playing around at domestic and European level. Throughout the peak years of Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder heavyweight reigns Parker was essentially a non-factor at top level. Until very recently'.

Joseph Parker was beaten by Anthony Joshua on 31st March 2018, Parker then fought Deontay Wilder on December 23rd 2023 'so Parker was a non factor at top level for half a decade. Fair play he was once upon a time, the WBO Heavyweight Champion. But let's be honest? Parker did not achieve many feats as a World Champion. He defended his title twice against Razvan Cojanu and Hughie Fury'.

Note: In reality right now Parker is only competing against and beating, fighters ether in the latter parts of their careers or completely unproven fighters at top level like Wardley 'Fabio Wardley has acquired the WBA Interim title, but? He has not really fought at World level in the professional ranks'.

It is a great fight for Joseph Parker, and actually? Good match making for him. If he wins, in the potential eventuality that Oleksandr Uysk vacates his titles 'Joseph Parker will become a World Champion again'.

To conclude: The facts are, if Joseph Parker did not disappear from top level boxing for way over half a decade 'maybe there would be more incentive for other top level fighters like Uysk, Fury and Joshua to compete against him. The only way Joseph Parker turns himself into a bigger opportunity for those fighters, is if he wins a title'.

I did actually like the idea of Anthony Joshua fighting ether Agit Kabayel or Lawerence Okolie. For similar reasons why Parker is fighting Wardley, if you beat those fighters then you will acquire a title. If Oleksandr Uysk vacates his World titles, it puts potentially Joseph Parker and Anthony Joshua in a more commanding position in the heavyweight game'.

I think Parker vs Wardley is a fight straight up Joseph Parker's street 'Parker is a by far better boxer, and I suspect he may even have the greater endurance. I think Wardley may be forced into another fight where he is being out pointed and beaten up, for the large majority of the fight. So he will have to look to turn the fight around with his determination and power' etc.

Parker is not afraid to meet hard challenges, and his resume is right up there with anyone's in the current division at this point. Huge props for not fighting once a year or hiding out.

Parker should win but its a needlessly risky fight when he has done more than enough to deserve a shot at Usyk. You have to commend it though.

We saw how limited Wardley is v Huni when he is smothered and can't set his feet.

But Parker lost v Chisora, slow motion Joyce timed and demolished him, Zhang knocked him down every time he touched him.

Parker doesn't press the action, he will try to potshot and move and could provide Wardley with issues if he can't set his feet, but ultimately this is why Parker never looks convincing. Wants to nick rounds rather than win them and if Wardley can press he will get to Joe.

Joe's taking this fight as he's banking on Wardley being stuck in mud with his feet like he has been in the past... But he has to work on pressing, as Parker can easily fall apart when he doesn't have time to breathe.

Opportunity here for Fabio, but his feet need to be better as Parker will just potshot and move all night if he isn't under pressure.

Credit to Parker. Could have killed time with a soft touch.

A meaningful match-up. This is an informal consolidation of the WBO/WBA interim titles, which should arguably put the winner above Kabayel in the queue for Usyk. Although I'm not sure if Wardley is ready for Parker after his Huni performance, this is the quickest way for him to move up the ladder. He had no choice but to accept. He'll be making another main event appearance vs. his most experienced opponent to date. Even-though Parker will be a clear favorite, this will arguably be a top 5 win for Parker.
