Though I wonder because if this is an exhibition, what rules will be put in place? Perhaps the size of gloves Jake has to wear? I'm assuming he'll have drop down to some sort of weight class. What will be the rules if this isn't an official boxing match? I really hate exhibitions, especially between two guys that have PLENTY of other names to choose from, are in their primes, but rather put on a circus show to run away with the bag.

Best thing then, would be Usyk vs Jakey boy where Usyk takes a tap in the first round and lies down making Paul undisputed heavyweight champ.

A white American superstar insta-heavyweight should get eyes on the prize!

But at what cost/sacrifice? It still remains to be seen whether Netflix has a long-term interest in boxing's development, or whether they're only going to cherry-pick the biggest fights. I guess boxing is the lab rat in Netflix's experiment. Also, how long will Netflix last when they begin to realize that many of the most marketable boxers are prima donnas?

Let’s fix the title to a more accurate description shall we?

    Boxing has a problem”

Yup, about sums it up nicely. Nothing more needs said.

In the end I dont think it even happened tbh. We are 7 years on from his first fight, over 5 from his pro debut, is there really any tangible difference in the size of the boxing audience now vs before he got involved. His fights seem to exist in their own bubble.

Usyk is a pretty big star. No he isnt Mike Tyson or Ali but stars like that dont grow on trees. Plenty of people recognise his name and face globally.

The heavyweight division was due a decline in commercial interest anyway. The resurgence under AJ, Fury and Wilder started like a decade ago, it wasnt gonna last forever nor was it likely that we'd immediately see another AJ or Fury level star to replace them when they started aging out.

I tried to give respect to Jake Paul for putting eyes on the sport and for what looked like him taking boxing serious in training and all aspects. If the Mike Tyson fight wasn't going too far, the terrible Chavez Jr. fight probably was. Obviously he went for Tyson for the money and eyes it would have. Chavez Jr. I'm not sure wtf it was for. Jr. was a joke for the majority of his serious part of his career. Bringing him back from the dead in boxing terms to face him was pointless.

Now he faces a guy 5 WEIGHT CLASSES BELOW HIM?! Wtf is going on here. I know it's an exhibition, but is soooo ****** and pointless. Jake gets ZERO credit if he somehow won and if Davis won, well, he beat a guy heavier than him that was a boxing joke.

I know they're both in it for the money, but let's be real here, this isn't like Crawford going up 2 divisions from where he operated best to face the best and training his @$$ off to get the victory. Gervonta might not even get off the couch on this one. It's so ****** and the circus show that is boxing at the worldwide stage continues. Mismatched, ****** fights that make no sense.

Let's not forget that just a few months ago we had Tyson-Usyk, Usyk-DDD, fights that actually mattered and reminded you why you love this sport when its highest level operators faced each other. Not only for the casuals but for the FANS that know the sport.

How does Teo Ryan Rolly Hitchins or even Shakur not have another fight lined up, this new era is diabolical, I think it’s a little to do with the fighters getting overpaid and the boys spending all their time on social media and not in the gym. Trash.
