The sinking feeling is that the wacky exhibition, even if held now, attracts more people (casuals) than Canelo vs Crawford, and more that watched two Usyk-Fury fights.
You could ask them if they watched Bivol and Beterbiev's two fights, and they'd say who.

Boxing has always had sideshow tendencies, unfortunately. This is an era where it’s coming to the fore. But Jake is bringing some added attention, and his promotions outside of his circus performances are decent.Leave a comment:

There's only one Jake Paul as far as I can make out - when he disappears normal service will resume
But, also, most casual boxing fans outside of the U.S have no clue who Tank is - they'll know Inoue, Bud, Canelo, Usyk, Fury and Joshua - Benavidez and Stevenson might just be appearing on their radar. This is a U.S problem and reflects on the non-ho*m*ogenuous state of US society. Tank/ Paul is escapism and entertainment and people need to be entertained in the US to divert attention from the hot mess that is the US news cycle.Leave a comment:

Jake doesn't want to fight a ranked guy and climb up the ladder to a championship. He knows he will get demolished.Leave a comment:

it wasnt good for boxing it was great for boxing, usyk got on with the undisputed stuff and fury who ducked the fight for ages was sidelined and beaten by the 'middleweight'

Boxing doesn't have any stars
Made me laugh when a couple of years ago people were saying Usyk beating Fury would be good for boxing
Usyk is what they call in wrestling a "vanilla midget"
The health of the big man division so goes the health of boxing.

Too many hands in the cookie jar. Promoters NOT making the best fights can be blamed for the vast majority of the problems we have.Leave a comment:
