This is is not history repeating itself. Perhaps in the age context.
Tyson was a beast of a man. Usyk will mop the floor with Itauma.Last edited by Oregonian; 08-14-2025, 10:46 AM.Comment

“I want to see Usyk against Itauma. This is the fight,” Alalshikh tweeted from ringside at Wembley
doesnt matter when we all think, if moses comes through in style v the ole ped monster himself then sounds like the cash man will splash the cash for that fight, i would personally prefer with parker or kabayal as they are both far more deserving of the shot than moses but this is boxing i guessComment

Again. Let's see how he deals with the ghost of Whyte first. It is a huge step up for Itauma. This kid is nowhere near being ready for Usyk and I don't get that hype.
Only Parker and Kabayel deserve the shot. Usyk should fight them or retire.Comment

A bit sick of the hype already tbh
Have him build himself up, beat quality contenders and earn a shot like everyone else has to.
I think its actually disrespectful to guys like Parker, Kabayel etc who have put in the work.Comment

Bit like Golovkin , HBO, Abel Sánchez and Loeffler, not golovkin himself. It was Sanchez who said 154-168

It may be a 'win-win' for Itauma but it's a lose-lose for Usyk. If Usyk wins he simply won't get any credit because Itauma is too young.
But that's what these promoters are hoping for, to catch Usyk on the slip. Usyk will be 39 soon. Although Itauma is inexperienced he still very quick, athletic and powerful. Things like that matter most at Heavyweight, especially.
I hope Usyk doesn't give them that satisfaction. I hope he retires before the boxing game beats him like it beats most.
Another thing he can do is move back down to Cruiserweight. He won't have to worry about the politics of boxing down there and it gives him another chance of undisputed again. Plus, it has some great names in Opetaia & Zurdo and I think the Light-Heavyweights would be willing to move up to face him (Bivol, Beterbiev, Benavidez). That's if he wants to fight a little longer though.
if I were his advisor I would tell him to fight Parker, Opetaia and then a farewell fight against someone like Wilder. Wilder is past it but it would be a farewell fight and it's not like Usyk is a spring chicken.
But in a vacuum, I do not hate the idea of him dropping back down to CW and finishing up his career trying to unify. I just think it may be harder for him than just fighting Parker than one more to retire staying at HW. Wilder is a fine name to end on. Then he can say he has handled all the "big names" of this era.Comment
