    Good news.

I'm not sure about the retirement. Based on the outcome of his last 5 fights, yes, but based on his performance against Abraham?
Abraham is one strong undefeated mofo, Taylor was competitive all the way, and even though I had him behind it was close, and there is no guarantee anybody else of the six's will be able to do better.
Taylor didn't burn out the same way he did against Froch in this fight, and I believe he his preparation worked much better this time.

Abraham is a top favorite, and I'm not to sure we seen the last brutal KO from him.

      Real talk.
He needs to stay away,be out of rankings, then fights is way to a WBO title or something like that, win it or lose it,then retire...
He deserve a cake walk after that WALK IN HELL.

Anyway,I thought he could back after his vacation with a tune up and fight Ward, but even if he decisions Ward, then what's next??
      So,yeah,it was ******!lol

He should step away from the tourney, definitely.
but with a steel balled and determinated guy like JT,and greedy promoters, you never know....

There is no way Showtime would force a fighter to take a fight if they were told the fighter was not fit to fight from a doctor. Period. People are calling for Taylor to retire so if he retired now and decided to come back over 12 months from now, everyone would the say the same thing they say about fighters like Holyfield, Gatti (R.I.P.), Erik Morales, M.A. Barrera, etc but because they will fight whether we tune in or not, we will all cave and tune in (at least if they are on HBO or Showtime) to see if they have one last great fight left. And if there's money to be made, which there would be with a name like Taylor fighting in Arkansas, the networks would stand behind him if it's a half way worthy opponent. My guess is he fights Andre Ward next and if he wins or fights honorably, he will go forward. Another loss, especially by KO should be the end. Whatever happens, glad to hear he is doing good and hope he gets out at the right time/before it's too late. Really good fighter, great individual.....

Good to hear Taylor is okay. How long does he have to stay in Europe? If I remember right, the doctors said that he couldn't fly on an airplane for a certain period of time for precautionary measures. And that rumor about a brain bleed is also false I presume?

I agree 100% that JT is a class act and one of the nice guys in boxing. It seems that he was raised to treat everybody with respect and have always rooted for him. Because he is such a nice guy I probably prefer he retires and does not risk any future damage to his brain. And for those who say he hasn't fought anyone: BHop twice, Winky, Ouma, Spinks, Pavlik twice, Lacy, Froch and Abraham is a better 5-year resume than most fighters.

Sounds like standard response from a publicist. Not to say he wouldn't congratulate Abraham, he's a classy fighter, that specific statement just doesn't sound like Taylor but maybe I'm wrong.

Anyway, I definitely think Taylor needs to retire. There was some hope that maybe his revamped training would do the trick but now that's he's been KO'ed once again and knowing he's done everything he can, how in the world can he truly believe in himself going forward? Usually a fighter can fall back on "well, if I would have worked more on this..." but that just isn't there now.
