      He needs rest more than anything. After the rest he can decide if retirement is necessary. He cannot jump back in with top competition again right away. He needs some easy fights. Hell he deserves them.
      I'm pretty sure he doesn't have that luxury.

      His contract with Showtime probably stipulates that the only way for him to withdraw from the tournament is for medical reasons or retirement. Despite his concussion, medically he will be cleared to fight again soon and so his only way out of the tourney is retirement. If he took 6 months to a year off and then decided to make a comeback, I'm sure Showtime would come after him for breach of contract.

              It would not be hard for him at all to get the advice in writing from his Doctor. He suffered a very bad concussion and needs rest. lots of it.

              I am sure Showtime would be understanding also on the matter. They would not want a severe permanent injury during this tourney. That would be a black cloud that would never go away.

                    glad he's doing ok,he's had a good career and can be proud of himself,personally i think these last 2 defeats will be too hard to get over,i hope i'm wrong as i like Taylor.
