His name is Daquan Shawntel and he's playing in the NFL.

If only the NFL didn't exist, America would run boxing.
        I disagree with that.
Its the prosperity found in the workplace for everybody in the United States, on construction sites, factories, fishing boats, farms, oil rigs, coal mines, lumber camps and elsewhere that suck up all the would-be boxers.
Safer, more steady and predictable vocations with fringe benefits and a 401k.

Remember that the NFL existed when Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Quarry, Lyle and Shavers roamed the earth. An NFL team's roster is made up of 53 players, and there are 32 teams. So, in 2025, they use up only 1,696 athletes in a nation of 347 million, and only a small handful of those would do any better in the ring than Mark Gastineau, Le'Veon Bell, Earl Dunlap, Ray Edwards, Tom Zbikowski, Eddie Blake, Lyle Alzado, John Clark, Roy Young, Tex Hamer, Adam Braidwood, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Craig Wolfley, Ed Williams, Howie Long, Otis Sistrunk, Tom "Potsy" Jones, Adrian White, L.C. Greenwood, George Trafton, Jack Torrance, Duke Slater, Jeremy Scruggs, Ray Richards, **** "Tiny" Powell, Earl Nolan, Fred Nesser, Al "Iron Man" Nesser, Roy Lumpkin, George "The Terminator" Linberger and Jevon Langford, all of whom played pro football, were great athletes, tough as nails, but couldn't fight a lick on a professional level!

Mike Balogun, Alonzo Highsmith, Charlie Powell, Leif Larsen and Sully Montgomery were the best of them, and could fight.
American football is a passing, pushing and running sport, and none of those things help you too much in a fight.

Boxing is a skill; and being a great athlete is akin to having steady hands and a sound mind in preparation for becoming a chess master.

          - - Usyk said he's got one more and done in Ukraine.

Then the usual punch drunks will have to find someone else blabber about...

Usyk beats them all. Jalolov would stand a chance if he was serious abou being pro. He is a big strong southpaw with a good power.

Sure he deserves the shot but does anyone think he will legitimately challenge ? Since Usyk has only a couple of fights left don’t we want to see him in matches where the outcome is unknown. Opetaia has the speed and footwork and Itauma has the quickness and power to make it interesting. Parker is a forgone conclusion.
The guy stretches Dempsey McKean so he can beat Usyk… Seen this hype before with Botysov, Ajagba, Makhmudov, Anderson, Dimitrenko & David Price to name a few. McKean was a good statement win but let’s see what happens when he gets hit cleanly by a big punch or gets cut…

Father Time is the most likely contender to beat Usyk. Itauma is a good prospect and may develop into an all-around fighter in 5-6 years' time, but right now, he is nowhere near a threat to beat Usyk. I am not sure he even beats Whyte unless Whyte is totally gone by now, given his age and inactivity.

I agree with you BUT Itauma is clearly on a different planet in terms of TALENT than those guys.

His handspeed is ridiculous, it's S+ handspeed.

There's still a lot of questions need answering but I understand people getting excited by a guy with the best handspeed in the division in like 20 years.
