He got stopped by Joyce. His lastest run includes a distance fight with a notorious gasser in Zhang where he got dropped twice. He fought Fat Bakole who hadnt trained and came in on 2 days notice. And of course failed to put Wilder away. How does that compare to Kabayel who stopped Zhang, Makhmudov and Sanchez in his last 3 fights.
He's just the current "hipster favourite"

He's still the guy who went 12 turgid rounds with Junior Fa and Jack Massey

Not so long ago he was under-rated and nothings changed except the poms and yanks have run out of credible challengers.

Over-rated is people thinking he'll beat Usyk like how every Brit fighter was supposed to do. Hell, they all had 2 shots at it while Parker was getting sidelined.

Queensberry has to reluctantly push for a Parker title shot while Matchroom has nobody to promote as a legit contender.

The definition of over-rated was Dubois and now Itauma.

          You've pushed me to this.

          Joseph Parker career review incoming.

We will be revisiting such classics as Parker vs Jack Massey, Parkers WORLD TITLE DEFENCE vs Razvan Cojanu and Parker vs Hughie Fury

I'm not exactly sure what the point of this thread is other than to whine about those dastardly Brits and their ability to promote their fighters. Its pretty ironic considering Parkers profile has largely been built through the UK scene too.

Itauma is considered a promising prospect, which he is. Dubois has never been overrated, any perceived threat he posed to Usyk was largely based on Usyk being 38 years old now, I also would consider him a 50/50 fight for Parker.

Nobody expected Del Boy to beat Usyk, thinking AJ would beat Usyk in the first fight was not an unreasonable belief, most people thought Usyk would beat Dubois and people were torn down the middle on Usyk/Fury going in. So no, not every Brit fighter was "expected" to beat Usyk.

Having said all that, I would have rather Kabayel or Parker had gotten the Usyk shot just now instead of Dubois again.

Lol...do what you gotta do champ.

But the fact remains, no one is more deserving or worthy of the next title shot than...

              Lupesoliai La'aulialemalietoa Joseph Parker.

...and if any Brit or American had Parker's recent record, they'd have had one by now and possibly an email strap to boot.

Its to stop the astroturfing of fans supposedly calling for British fights no one wants, like Fury or Joshua or Chisora or Itauma while denigrating Parker as being over-rated, boring and unlikely to mount a decent challenge to Usyk.

It's like there's bad actors on the queensberry or matchroom payroll schilling talking points for gullible casuals.

Itauma is the only weird unreasonable opponent for Usyk listed there, and its a fight that hasnt happened and wont happen unless Usyk is still around in a few years and has fallen off.

Chisora was a logical early HW opponent for an Usyk who was dipping his toes in the division. Obviously Fury and AJ were much bigger fights for Usyk on a commercial level than Parker and were credible opponents who had earned the fight.

If you wanna complain about the needless rematches i'm with you on that. But to say no one wanted Fury/Usyk or Usyk/AJ is crazy.

I was all for them but I'm saying no one wants to see them again now.

We're done with hyped up Brits and their handlers holding belts to ransom with rematches and shenanigans to manipulate rankings and mandatorys.

Its time the belts were fought for on merit again and top of that list is Parker, as over-rated and boring as he might be.

                      - You can't credit him for the Bakole win. That's ridiculous.
                      - Lost to Chisora
                      - Demolished by Joyce
                      - Struggled to do anything against domestic level Cruiserweight Jack Massey
                      - Lucky to survive or get the decision v Zhang who had him on the canvas multiple times and didn't even try

Some credit for the Zhang win, even if Zhang didn't try, Parker survived and nicked a very controversial decision. But didn't even threaten Zhang who only has a 4 round gas tank. Look at what Kabayel did.

He got a decision v 'Wilder'. Again this man didn't want to be in the ring, but Parker did what he had to do, so some credit there, with a pinch of salt. Again, look at what Zhang did.

The truth here is that Parker IS massively over hyped. He's been beaten up, lost multiple times, struggled against average Cruiserweight, tasted the canvas on multiple occasions and somehow is regarded as Usyks biggest threat.

Put it down on paper and this guy is barely top 10.
