Comparing Usyk to Ali is laughable.

I love Usyk as a fighter and a person and feel privileged to have been able to follow his career. He's been a breath of fresh air.

He's an ATG & possibly has the ability to crack the top 5 HW all-time list where of course you can speculate head-to-head and things of that nature but the reality is he has not got the quality or depth on his resume to make a case for being greater than Ali.
I think that Larry Holmes *might* have been better than Ali but you simply can not give him it because their resumes and accomplishments are not remotely comparable. Its just my speculation based on the eye test vs lesser foes & it doesn't matter if I think he looks better in there I have to go with the one who proved to be at a higher level time and time again.

Usyk will never be able to overtake Ali for the sheer fact this era hasn't the quality and he hasn't the time on his side to even make that argument.

I don't want to pick apart Usyks resume in fact I think its underrated on the whole and I think his WSB fights should maybe count as really they are pro fights they just aren't counted. I think his CW run is horribly overlooked & Briedis is a fantastic win. However strictly at HW and I do not want to go here but these HWs are just so flawed, vulnerable and frankly not very good this and tbh people know this. We all remember when Usyk moved up all people mentioned was their size, not their skills, not their ability, size. Why? cause deep in their hearts they knew they was just big, limited & highly vulnerable.

Given that Usyk almost does not get hit and that Ali has been hit a lot which led to Parkinsons there is a case to be made that Usyk is better.

        In no particular order -
        Ali
        Holmes
        Lenny
        Holy
        Wlad
        Vit
        Bowe
        Tua
        Foreman
        Frazier
        Spinks
        Louis
        Norton
        Lyle
        M Tyson (glorified bully)
        Marciano
J Ruiz (love him or loathe him, homeboys resume is sick !)
        Moorer
        Morrison
        Valuev
        Berbick
        Tucker

Who would Usyk realistically beat ?
Does his resume stand up to any/all of these guys ?

        Me and my questions !

Ali was fighting much better opposition.
Usyk is fighting slow ass HWs with no snap on their punches, cement feet and no punch variety. Very limited skillsets who rely on trying to walk him down.

Ali was fighting guys who could actually box and take a punch.

Lets not act like when Usyk was at CW and guys was closer to his speed and skill level like he never got touched.

At this moment in time there is a much bigger talent pool to draw from, Soviet, China, Africa. At the time HW division consisted only of a small pool of just American HWs.

These HWs of today are bunk, sorry.

All dropping their hand after jabbing, day 1 beginner chit.

None of them can even put a combination together.

You have Usyk and Kabayel the rest are just big freakshows really reliant on size with no real skill, durability, stamina, technique. This is era much like Wladimirs is lacklustre.

You could put them all together and wouldn't get a single Bowe, Ibeabuchi, Holyfield, Holmes, Foreman

There are more today as there are more boxing gyms, its easier to turn pro, bigger population, etc
Even with that there has only been one notable HW from China and 0 from Africa
We have more competing in other sports also it doesn't mean the quality has gone up in fact its got considerably worse in many/most.

We're also in a much softer era.
Men back then wasn't sat staring at screens for 12 hrs a day simping and being too scared to even say what a woman is. They didn't have all the distractions and laziness.
The food was a infinitely healthier and things like steroids was no way near as rampant.
Trainers back then was teachers and mentors not PE teachers and glorified crossfitters.

Todays HWs are training like bodybuilders and well everything but boxing because with technological advancement its brought comfort and laziness. Back then the only thing they did was eat, sleep, train. Not an ounce of fat on any of them.

Given that Ali faced 1000000% better opps.........

This was Ken Norton record before facing Ali. Lots of fighters with 10+ losses on it.

Norton would have owned this era.

BTW, how many HOFers do you see coming from this era ?
