Comparing Usyk to Ali is laughable.

Honestly man, you are so desperate for confrontation on here, it’s pretty sad tbh.
Can you not read? You were using it as an argument for Ali over Usyk, not just acknowledging it.

If I were using Peterson over Khan as an argument for Peterson's greatness, I would be laughed at. And rightfully so. Any argument in favor of Peterson should never, ever try to pretend that Khan win was legitimate. And the same is true for someone arguing in favor of Ali. There are plenty of good arguments in Ali's favor without pretending like he didn't get gifts against Norton or Young.

It's like you can't connect obviously related concepts together without someone explaining it to you ad nauseum. Good lord.

I thought that thread was a joke until I started reading comments.

The recency bias and lack of awareness is worrisome.
Usyk is one of the greatest fighters of all time.

Usyk defines the word champion. Look at his actions.

Ali beat 7 HOF’ers and we’re talking absolute legends too. Frazier x2, Foreman, Liston x2, Norton x2, Patterson x2, Foster, Moore. Usyk probably has 2 on the resume in Fury and AJ.

Ali also held the lineal HW title 3 times, reclaiming it for a second time nearly a decade after his first reign began, after having over 3 years of his prime taken from him. Foreman was expected to absolutely murder him too. I think people forget how big of an upset that was. It would be like Wilder beating Usyk- unthinkable.

The overall impact Ali had on boxing and the world in general was astronomical too.

I won’t downplay Usyk’s achievements at all. Incredible run at Cruiserweight, unified the titles in his opponents backyards, then essentially done the same up at Heavyweight. 3x Undisputed Champion and undoubtedly a modern great but putting him above Ali is madness IMO. It’s simply recency bias or people who do not actually know what they’re talking about.
But Ali lost to 2 non hall of famers and struggled vs a few others out of the hall of fame.

            Usyk never did did this

No I was listing HOF’ers Ali has on his resume. It’s a factual matter.

Where did I state that I thought Ali beat Norton twice? He beat him once IMO but it’s totally irrelevant.

You’re so desperate for an argument man, it’s f***ing pathetic, get a life.

You literally list him among the 7 Hall of Famers that Ali beat. That's the sentence you wrote. Even though Norton deserved the win all 3 times. The argument you constructed used Ali's "wins" over Norton to say that Ali was great.

Now you can't even read your own posts.

No different than someone saying with a straight face that Canelo's first "win" over GGG is why he's so great. Or that Peterson's "win" over Khan is what makes him great. Next you'll be telling me that Josh Taylor's "win" over Jack Catterall was the stuff of legends. Get a grip.

Sure it's probably peds but usyk beats him on Longevity and ali wasn't fighting guys 20-40 pounds heavier

Even foreman that they made a big deal out of how huge he was, only weighed 4 pounds more than Ali making them basically the same size
Ali fought much tougher competition, was in a lot more wars and was a ghost of himself at age 38.

Ali was considered past his best when he went in against Foreman. Many thought Big George was going to dominate Ali and send him to the Cosmos on the back of what he did to Norton and Frazier. There was legit worry for his health and safety.

The weight difference may not have been much, but they had different body types and Foreman was a devastating puncher.

Don't minimize that historical boxing moment. They still talk about it for a reason.
