Allan Green Not Interested in Edison Miranda Box-Off

During the course of the weekend, I spoke with promoter Dan Goossen to get his thoughts on the first two fights of the Super Six World Classic Classic. The obvious question on my mind was to get his opinion on whether or not Jermain Taylor should continue with the remainder of the Super Six round-robin tournament. Arthur Abraham knocked Taylor out in brutal fashion in the twelfth round of their fight on Saturday in Berlin. [details]

I, er, Green has wasted enuf time turnin down fights. It's time to make sumthin happen. I, er, Green is damn lucky to get offered a spot in the tourney. If the Steiglitz fight ain't gonna happen and it's a spot in Super 6 instead, **** it. I, er, Green gotta get crackin or completely be forgotten and dismissed while other SMW's keep gettin their shine.

Green has always said he would do anything to get a rematch with Miranda. Now the ***** has a chance and he is running. Showtime needs a comain for the Ward/Kessler fight. This rematch people want to see. If Green cant get passed Miranda then he has no business being in the tourny. Grow some balls Allen and prove to the world that your loss to Pantera was a fluke. You got your ass handed to you last time.

If Taylor were to Drop out of Course... Time to Hang them up

When did this become an America v Europe battle? Is that why Bute or Andrade is not in the Super-Six and decided to do their own mini tourny instead? Would explain how Taylor and Dirrell got on the card but also shows the state of American boxing when Ward, Dirrell and Taylor are your best options. Now Grenn claims Showtime is obligated to put him in Taylors place, should he withdraw or retire, and we are suppose to agree?? WTF... I agree with Green in principle, but did he watch the replay of his last fight? If Allan had won in better fashion against Simms he might have a leg to stand on but that is not even the case. Basically to put Green in the Super-Six based mainly on the fact that he is American will take away the appeal of the Tourny. Lets get the best fighter, and judging by the records so far, America is not doing so well. Why not let Sakio Bika(sounds like a watch) get a shot at the Super-Six? I think he has had some experience in this sort of thing. But i definitely think there should be a Box-Off since no one has proven they should be the replacement and since Bute/Andrade are going to busy.

I dont blame Green, they said he would be the replacement if a fighter is needed, now they are changing the rules in the middle of the game. Miranda just got destroyed by my boy Ward, now he's trying to gain some ground in fighting Green.

I have been one of the few posters on here that support Green but you would think he would want to avenge a ko loss. Sounds like some ***** **** here, he is lucky to be offered the spot at all and the chance to make some money off of beating Miranda too. This is why I don't support many American boxers, most have this diva attitude like they are owed something from everyone.

                Of course he isn't.

Green doesn't want to actually earn a spot, he just wants to fight nobodies and run his mouth until one falls into his lap.

Let's look at some of his ****** comments from the article: "I'm not fighting Miranda, who did ward beat to get into the tournament?"

                Err, he beat Miranda.

He also says "Who did Dirrell beat, Oganov?"

Yeah, the same Oganov that Green was due to fight a couple of weeks ago

Green has turned down several fights against good opponents so as to continue facing scrubs. He hasn't earned the opportunity. Bika isn't that good, but at least he has always been willing to fight anyone, anywhere.

I hope Taylor is able to recover, be ok, and continue. However if not, I hope they find a way to persuade Bute to get involved. Bute is one of the best in the division and has beaten top 10 opposition. Green has not.

All good points, I have been following Green for a while and think he is good enough to potentially beat any SMW in the world, but this isn't what I like to hear from fighters. He isn't even that well known yet, it makes me think he would be a huge cherrypicker and duck everyone if he had a belt and became notable.
Yes, Bute is one of the best SMWs in the world and should have been in the tourney to begin with.

I think Green is still afraid of Miranda, he wants no part from Miranda again.
